Can’t wait to talk myself into this team making the playoffs next February after they spend approximately 7 dollars in free agency and Vegas has their over/under yet again at 80.5 wins

I know they're mathematically in it, but if the Sox fall out, I think I'm rooting for Detroit to get in and go deep. They've shown that push for the post-season that the Sox have not.

Are we really sure this lineup couldn’t desperately use Juan Soto Dont get me wrong because the FO wont make that commitment but yes they could. Doesn't even bother me that he hits lefty. One of the best and most consistent hitters in the game and there isn't a team in the league that couldn't use him. |

As weird as it sounds, yesterday pretty much everybody else won when we won and everyone lost when we lost today. If you're looking at it from a tank point of view, today was a must-lose game (god I hate calling it that), and the Red Sox did lose. We're basically where we were after the first game of the Rays series, which, is a step in the tank direction. 2-7 to go 78-84, 5-4 to go 81-81. The logical part of my brain is saying we probably go 3-6 or 4-5 and end up with 79 or 80 wins, but the emotional part of my brain is clinging to those two records. |

Devers maxed out around 4.6 WAR around August 26th or so. At that point he was on pace for a 6 WAR season. Now he's on track to finish below 4 WAR for the second year in a row. My biggest complaint about Cora is encouraging everyone to tough out injuries when it should be obvious that they're just going to play bad This is one of my leading theories as to why the team has faded down the stretch literally every year of Cora's tenure, but there is more digging to do. |
