Let it not go unspoken that the Soto/Volpe combo in the 8th to turn a single into a triple and then Cabrera to not turn the double play lost the Yankees the game. Defense is huge in tight games, not as sexy as huge hits, but those hits don’t happen with solid defense.

Not a word of exaggeration: When FF made contact, I jumped off the couch and screamed "Get the f-ck outta here! Get the f-ck outta here!" It was a no doubter but I wanted to give it a little help just to make sure.
I was actually pleased that they walked MB, even though it set up a L-L matchup. I just had more faith in FF there.
The HP ump should be run out of the sport after the first two strike calls to Edman. There's no excuse for missing pitches that badly in that spot. It's the equivalent of a baserunner forgetting the number of outs with a WS game on the line.

If Dave Roberts can pilot the Dodgers to the championship, then that's 2 really aggravating events that he has helped inflict upon the Yankees. Long way to go, but one can hope.
