Hernandez has an awful glove in RF and really.. he may have a cannon of an arm, but -0- clue as to how to use it, like which base, cutoff guy. He's a liabilty in the field and doesn't Boston already have 1 of that type already inked for another 3y, who was supposed to play in the OF?
Watched the M's, as always do the year hernandez was there. It doesn't get much worse than him in RF, u stick him in a trickier RF, like Fenway, hen pay him tons of cash? What is it with the fanbase sometimes.

The danger of a QO is that they accept. Don't think so. Offering it up to O'Neill is like low hanging fruit at getting 2 free draft picks. Boras, his agent isn't about to let him agree when there is any chance at a LT deal. Hope Breslow understands this and makes the offer.

The guy will go on absolute rolls, has all year and then lose it for 2-3 games and get hit hard. Was same way last year with Ryan fernandez, who was sure Boston would protect in Rule5 draft, didn't and is now putting up pretty much exact Justin Slaten #'s for St Louis. Will boston protect Guerrero? I'd like to think so, but this team last cpl years never seems to amaze me roster decisions wise.

I think Campbell will out WAR Anthony during their team control years if both end up with the same years of control 7 or 6 Almost to point would like the sox to go ahead and sign the guy to a LT deal that would begin the year he makes it to the big leagues if that mkes any sense and like give him a large salary for rest of his MiLB days. Other owners would maybe despise the team for that type of deal, but agree with many here. This guy looks so special and to know he'd be locked up for maybe as long as a decade would be just perfect.

Rome now 3/4 with a double. Dueling >1.000 OPS Also Dick Fitts quietly slinging a shutout thru 5 Watched 1st 5IP. man was he on. 93-6. Decent slider and what looked like a change. The guy looks, at times could be a mid rotation help.

Joely is back, Weissert optioned No reasonable excuse for this. DFA? Yeah, that guy has no buisness being on the Sox roster..period and another example of why continue posting about nonsenser moves made by the Sox FO, which bizarre would be way too polite.

Everytime see either a SS/2b do the old dbl/triple clutch before throwing the ball to 1b, like Tyler McDonough just did and cost Portland a run with the throw late.. reminds me of guy who was the worst at doing it, like every ball hit to him at SS he'd dbl clutch before throwing.. One hanley Ramirez.. used to sometimes drive Marlins announcer up a wall. Old hanley, never much range at SS anyway, just never could get out of the habit of making a should have been easy out into close play by double clutching the ball before throwing it.

Vaughn Grissom is currently on an 0-16 Last AB was solid contact but the numbers are horrific. I have written him off for 2024. Let's hope only for the '24 season. Face it, little trade value ATM with the injuries and how he's done since returning. Not lacking with internal options within the system as it is now 2b/SS for '25. Deal looks worse and worse.

Dalbec almost out at home on the wild pitch that went to the back stop. Seemed more worried about his helmet coming off than sliding and was very close play.
Things like that sure won't earn him a spot on the roster come September.

Dobbins and Early 2 of the interesting SP at Portland. Early with not a lot of velo, more finese but interesting since promotion and dobbins last 2 seasons has been interesting when seen on milb tv. no radar spd shown sub aaa and don't rcall any announcer with a velo of that high in a game of his, but man.. he can sit mid 90's, touch that high with his slider that looks pretty good.. might have something.

Sittingstill- Thanks, that was what was wondering. believe some over the years might have thought I was with some organization when was asking about possible reimbursment. I do remember the last gentleman to ask, player by the name of kyri Washington several years ago and like you mentioned? Did have a few request pictures emailed to them over the years since the digital age.
Appreciate the response and answer. Figured when was asked myself the guys figured initially was a rep for some card company rather than a fan who got started doing the same thing on and old Kodak Brownie.

You say that as though cold hard facts automatically lead to emotional acceptance. On the plus side, both Uberstine and Mullins should graduate from "player I have only photographed in a T-shirt" status. Guessing you take many of the pics for profiles on this site? Like to ask something, don't have to post any reply, just something was asked only when took tons of digital photographs when went to Ft myers of players over the years from the young kids and never, ever before like 2010, or 11 perhaps. Few guys.. like 3-4 over the years wife and i would make the kind of short trip to stay a wk-2 at Ft Myers to catch some GCL action, some guys would ask who I worked for and how much they (if anything) they were getting for the picture. Figured was mostly low to no pay at the level driving most of it and could count on 1 hand number of ppl saw during GCL seasons taking individual payer pics all the years we went anyway.

I will now be predicting an August collapse for the Red Sox every season until further notice. It’s like Groundhog Day with this org. Moves back a month. During the near entire 1970's could book a September collapse. O's manager Earl Weaver used to joke about it. Shame of this season's is so much of it was done with idiotic moves done by the team themself, rather than any plaer(s). many have done a good, or great job, it was manager/front office to me more responsible for wwhat has happened than individual players. not holding breath on any being heald accountable either, nor any lessons learned for future reference.

These funny jersey days on Saturday can be kind of comical. Worcester's opponent had "Pigs" on jersey, now see Portland's has "pugs".

Guy has been money and very much taken for granted. yes and in the past we've had better bullpens and worse closers who were more appreciated so it just baffles me a little why RSN isn't signing his praises. This won't be popular, like many of my thoughts/views towards Boston, but the pitching development, including coaching instrutor choices for years has been lacking. Why? Dunno, but thinking is more of a good old boys netwok than anything else. just a guess. have a strong.. Very strong feeling that some around this site have lots more indepth knowledge as to inner goings on into how things have been functioning. Do understand why those people don't publicly let onto that knowledge, but it's got to be infuriating seeing poor choices made, if it's the situation i described and do know that system has existed before years ago.

Sogard experiment was cool but time to bring back Grissom Grissom isn't exactly setting the world on fire at AAA. At this point Sogard probably is the better option, grissom has missed a lot of time this year. He needs ABs down in AAA instead of sitting the bench most the time in Boston. Exactly. If they were to return sogard to AAA, meidroth would be a better choice over grissom. He's performed all year, which is more than can say about Grissom.

Allow me to second what the hot mic caught Merloni saying at the end of the mlb.com broadcast: "Jesus." Now we'll hear Lou won't be on Nesn broadcasts for few games for using non approved "terms" on it's platform.

Can name 1 Dombrowski might be tired of and looking to unload, only would require Philly paying 50% (or more) of remaining 36m left owed in 25-6.. Taijaun Walker, who have always liked myself as a gritty competitor that analytics oriented people can't stand.
His velocity is down a 1.5mph this year, some is his various injuries more than likely which have been several. Walker won't fold during an inning when it gets tough and is a throwback style mentality attitude.
Have wanted Boston to get him since early M's days. Forget the no flashy spin rates. He's not going to fold was how always judged him and if could get Philly to subsidize the salary and not want a large return? I'd like him.

I'd go with he's (Fitts) not yet ready and still needs to improve. Point was he's got to be placed on the 40 man come this winter anyway, or risk him being taken and the BP as it stands is worn out. nobody can tell me he isn't a more viable option than Chase Shugart and fitts is capable of going longer.
Fail to see the logic against moves often times. There are still 2-3 people populating the 40 man roster who are easy dfa decisions. it's mind boggling.

Shame Fitts going for Woo Sox today. He'd be better used in Boston in Paxton's place, then use Winckowski to relieve him. Not like Sox won't need to protect him on 40 man this winter anyway.
Team needs to start making common sense roster decisions, which have been generally lacking all year.

Kirwin's (hopeful) start with Salem may be something if it's to be broadcast on milbtv today, which isn't always the case.
How many will skip the Woo Sox game to see it tho? Doubting very many.

FWIW, the MLB leader in Stuff+ for pitchers with min. 90 IP is ... Nick Pivetta. He actually leads all the way down to min. 60 IP, which is remarkable given that the stat favors relievers. But again, not holding my breath that he'll be back... He was quite happy to get out of Philly and to Boston originally, but like u wrote.. Getting flip flopped like he has can change one's mind and available SP this winter is pretty lean. Would see him myself as getting comp salary (per season) to Flaherty, as Nick has consitency (innings wise) to his credit if nothing else. Look back now and remember Boston gone out and given Eovaldi the kind of money you suggested early on in the offseason 3 short years ago and how much better off the team would be and Eovaldi is head and shoulders above Pivetta. Think myself whatever SP they bring in this offseason will be either via trade, or a reclamation project, like a Corbin type.

Criswell, according to his player page here will be out of options next year. It shows options used in 21, 23 and he's already been optioned this year, just guessing his player page not updated and cannot see him worthy of a 26 man spot over an entire season, he's a swingman/break glass emergency starter type.
Wild longshot/hope anything left for dirt cheap: Patrick Corbin.. If he'd be willing to sign for dirt, dirt cheap and see if Bailey could fix anything with him that's been wrong with him like seemingly for years now.

Batting practice at Portland. Which ball went the furthest? Binellas to RF, or that crush job by Campbell to left?
