Lorenzo Cedrola 2 for 3 with a double so far. Now 18 for 37 in his last 10. The kid seems to have good instincts in center and a cannon for an arm from the 2 throws I saw. One that went from center (after catch to cutoff man between 2nd and 3rd) That was especially strong and on target IMO. His swing looked level, with slight uppercut, not overly long. Would really like to see one of the main scouting guys get a longer look at him and watch from behind the box. I generally don't from that angle.

Thanks Mike and everyone else. If any are of any use? Please feel free to make use of them, as always.
My wife still hasn't DL'd the photos from the good camera yet, said she probably would this weekend and will go over those and upload anything that looks good then.
We are heading back to The Fort it appears sometime in mid August for another week also.

PawSox @pawsox 8m8 minutes ago Final line for Brian Johnson on a steamy Sunday in Columbus: 3 IP, 4 R, 4 ER, 6 H, 4 BB, 1 K, 78 pitches. Keith Couch comes on in relief. That's a little less hyperbolic than desired, but Couch threw 3.1 innings of 1 run ball, with a single HR given up before toughing it out a few more outs. Fun fact: Michael Choice hit the HR, I remember when he used to be a good prospect but I forgot he was drafted 3 picks ahead of Chris Sale, 5 picks after Pomeranz and 403 picks before Keith Couch. I have absolutely no idea what I'm trying to say. Kinda' do. Couch has been pitching pretty good of late. In fact? Really good, until forced to come in and bail out Johnson from his rehab start in relief and wasn't the same, super sharp self. I'd like to see Couch get a start 1st if anyone within the organization is called 1st in an emergency start myself.

I never saw him taking a turn going after foul balls, or working umpire care (water)/doing bat boy duty in any of the 4 games I saw. He was in the bleachers with the scorekeepers, apparently running errands (I guess), or elsewhere whenever I noticed him. For those familiar with who does the "dirty work" in the GCL.. It's the pitchers who perform bat boy, chase down foul balls.. etc.. Groome I never saw take a turn like the others in workout T's. Obvious maturity issues coming to the surface here. You know Sammo? That brings up kind of a point, tho you were obviously joking. Saw him get mini swamped for autographs 2 times. Not by tons of folks, but u know.. Half dozen when 2-3 were getting pictures and 1 guy seemed obviously knew who he was and had several baseballs for him to sign near the runway to the dugout where the area was I was watching the games. He was really nice, taking pictures with everyone, chatting, smiling like most every young kid does before they get ruined by the media and gawking fans as they progress. The kid acted great both times saw him like that and when asked him for pictures both times? Was nice as could be. Media will invent these stories. I'll have to see for myself more often than not before will believe them.

Edit:
I should add that have 1 more picture of Groome haven't yet uploaded. It's really large, but will once either go online and looke for something to cut it with, or find a disk here that's got a piece of software with.. Storage won't allow tons of useage and this pic alone as-is 2.6mb.

Jared Oliver. Might add spoke with Jared right after game on Wednesday where he wasn't that effective and he was very pleasant and polite, extremely friendly. Wanted to know name, where was from and more than happy to chat even tho it was easy to see his uniform and hat/arms were soaked with sweat. A very nice and humble young man IMO.

Many, many more images to follow. Most new players and some more of these. Time to go clean out the vehicle from the long trip however.

We're back from the Fort. Tons of pictures of new Sox draftees, plus guys from last season's DSL team and have a problem.. Imagebucket/photobucket don't allow hosting for linking any longer.. Someone have a hint where can store them to link here?
Juan Carlos Abreu was easily the best overall player saw the 4 games. Blazing speed and an aptitude for hitting. Slash/line drive swing that hopefully will advance him on a steady pace thru the system.
The arm and glove on Lorenzo Cedora.. Just a kid is hard to believe. This guy.. If he can hit, should be a real jewel.

Nice pictures of Chatham will also be getting uploaded now too when we get back. Really nice one of him today after game at Ed Smith stadium. Would also like to add was impressed by few short sentences we exchanged before and afterwords. A polite and very courteous young man.
Would like to point out something have noticed this trip to both Ft Myers and Sarasota. Opponent has been the Orioles team every game and one thing is hard to miss.. This O's team has multiple big bodied guys who can't move much, yet can also hit the ball a long way.
Saturday and Monday they reached the L/F wall at The Fort, nothing really easy for young kids and today, Carlos Diaz, the 6'2 280lb 19yo kid they have put one WAY over the RCF fence at Ed Smith stadium.
This team looks built with power and other oddities.. Like a genuine knuckledragging submariner that puts Ziegler to shame. Name of Joe Johnson

Weems was looking pretty decent in his GCL 3 innings. 93-96 and a fairly decent change. Appeared to be a curve he was trying to throw also, not really good from my vantage point.
The gun had him touching 96.7 on one of his heaters.
Can confirm Chatham is fine, played and looked decent. Asked someone else who said there was no problems.
Groome is there and in workout Sox clothes. Have a picture of him to upload when we get back. Not a super nice as last bundle yet. We just got a Canon Rebel T5 with all the extra funky lenses and haven't figured it all out yet.. When we got to the park today? Couldn't get it working right :-(
Will take older backup to Sarasota and are coming back Wednesday/prolonging our stay to catch another game

Chatham got HBP today and came out of the game He was back in the dugout tho later on. Don't "think" anything major lingering. Can ask Monday, Will catch that game, as well as one in Sarasota on way back home. Got several shots of the guys from the page listed as needing pictures of, also juan Carlos Abreu from newly drafted. Will try to get more next cpl of games. Starter today (Yorvin Pantoja) was working magic until tiring in the 5th. Working 89-91fb with a little slider, occasional change in mid 70's and the Twins just couldn't buy a hit. Was impressive.

Have to say I am very disappointed. I figured we would sign at least one more lottery ticket prospect. I love the Groome pick, I just question how we handled the picks after the first round. 2012 was the disappointment draft as soon as the choices were announced, save for possibly Light back then. Groome alone makes this one worthwhile and full of hope.

Also....this thing isn't over yet. A guy who really wants to play pro ball might take a 200k bonus. We didn't think Brakeman would sign for a similar value last year. Just wait until tomorrow....I think we spend the remaining 100k+ somehow whether its on Quintana, or the HS guys with less pedigree (Michael Wilson, Beau Capanna, etc.). Washington signed for only 100k last year out of the blue and nobody figured on that either. Anything can happen.
