Eric and Kiley basically saying that last years draft and the 2017/18 IFA classes have to carry the system. Makes sense and their write-ups on the players are thorough.

Just not sure why the mets wouldnt try to sign Grandal and keep Rosario, Thor, etc. instead of chasing Realmuto, but I've also never had millions of dollars to play around with

People keep assuming that if Betts reaches free agency he is gone to the highest bidder, probably right, but why can't that bidder be the Red Sox?
It's not like they are pinching pennies. They're a big payroll club and are planning for that type of deal. It's a weird doom and gloom outlook on here when it comes to the open market.

Yup the talent is there, just need a couple to really pop next year to change perception. Flores, Casas, Decker, hell even Groome could really jump out next year provided good health. The talent is there, but they need to show it.

The Bobby Dalbec experience is one of the crazier things I've followed in the system since I started paying attention. A great combo of skills offset by one fatal flaw. It's fascinating.

Just get the mega-Mookie extension done and go from there. That's all that truly matters to me at this moment. Once you have his future taken care of you can assess how best to use the rest of your assets.
