I'd love to know if Chavis could play 2B passably

Their record with Sale pitching this year is crazy. Is this a case of their inability to hit quality pitching? It's infuriating to say the least.

A Chad Hardy HR kicks off the scoring for 2018 GCL Sox. Anyone have that in your office pool? And you hit the jackpot if you had him go yard twice. Heads to his page to figure out who he is....

How much more interesting would the trade deadline be if teams could trade draft picks? Seems like it would make deals easier to materialize. Just a random draft related thought

It seems like Wright will be getting a start so I'd assume thats the game where Swihart would get work behind the plate.

This could be a situation where a guy is just better than the scouting report. Does his fastball have a high spin rate? There has to be something here that is a hidden plus to allow for a pretty large sample of stellar performance in the high minors right?

Huge couple of runs. Don't have to run a big arm out there for the 9th. Gimme BJ. That didn't go well, but bringing Kimbrel in is hasty.

I genuinely enjoy Hanley and wish things would have worked out better. Ballsy move by DD and I hope it works out.

Mismanagement of assets. Feels like its been an odd couple years of how the Red Sox have handled the fringes of the roster when it comes to service time and the ilk. I could be off base there, but it seems like we are often a tad confused at their timing and decisions on some things.

Hanley ramirez WPA last night was -.236 (He was second to only Colome last night lol) His OPS for the season is .724, he's been a liability in the field and on the basepath too and in 191 PA he gave the team exactly 0 WAR. His GB% for the season is 50.3%, for the month of May it's almost 60% despite playing next the poster boy of launch angle and being coach by a proponent of the air ball. Giving him AB (not even batting 3rd) so his year option could vest is borderline mal practice. Yup. It's hit the point in the season where things are more predictive and not simply SSS noise. Cora's been surprisingly stubborn with things when it comes to playing time and the batting order. Moreland and Holt should absolutely play against righties (I won't touch on the catching situation). Hanley should not be in the 3 spot regardless.

Devers has taken the smart "attacking" approach wayyyy too far. He's swinging at everything right now.
But AAA is not the answer and it would make this team worse to remove him

But at the same time we haven't even seen him catch in 2 years and Red Sox catchers this year have been one of if not the worst position groups in the MLB. He realistically can't give them less than they've gotten from the other two.
So yes it's hoping and wishing but it has more to do with the utter zeroes that Vazquez and Leon have been in the lineup, than it does Swihart for for me. I just want to see him back there for a few games. Can it really hurt that much?

Man, the state of the farm is helpless right now...There's nothing for me to look forward to. I mean when the highlight of the day is a 23 years old infielder in A+ ball and a future 22 years old reliever in Low A, you know the situation is not optimal to put it mildly. The DSL can't start soon enough... To that point, they really could use Diaz, Antoni Flores, anyone really to pop down in the DSL to give the system hope of a rebuild. Need something to latch onto and dream on

Can we criticize Vazquez on defense yet or is he still considered "elite"? Yuck.

At least Benintendi actually drove a ball out last night! Hanley finally found the barrel again too!
They need those two (And Devers needs to adjust, where'd his oppo pop go?). The pitching was off to a ridiculous start, but I'm not worried. The Yanks have the horseshoe up their butt right now. Both are good teams, just a bad taste from last night.

The JBJ issue is tough. He's running a 45% K rate in the last 3 weeks? Ouch.
Looking at fastballs down the middle for strike 3 shows you a lost hitter. He has an option, but is that the solution for him?

Not an amazing start, but Pomeranz rebounded nicely after a shaky beginning.
