Multiple pitchers, interesting. This is where SF has a little depth in their system.

Good luck Jake. Great guy. Just didn't have it any longer. Gotta love any pitcher/player who helped the Red Sox win a championship and handled himself in a most professional manner.

Speier says it's two pitchers coming back. No names yet.

Given the glut of pitching at AAA I'd think they'd be after AA, A guys. I'd take Stratton back, even though he hasn't been great still has upside.

I think Peavy will pitch quite well in that league in those NL West parks. Good move for San Fran, and will be interesting to see who we get back.

Upper level RHP according to Spieir. We aren't getting Crick so the best we can do is probably Clayton Blackburn and Heath Hembree.

Alex Speier ?@alexspeier 18s Sox expected to receive a pair of upper levels minor league RHPs for Peavy. Deal still awaits Commish office approval
This means the Red Sox are kicking in more than $1mm. Peavy is owed approx. $4.9mm for the rest of the year.

I hope it's a guy who could be a good reliever with several years if control.

Sickels on our alliterative duo, Dec '13: "2) Edwin Escobar, LHP, Grade B+: Borderline B. Throws three quality pitches for strikes, dominated the California League and continued to perform well after moving up to Double-A. Future number three starter I think, relatively high floor but doesn’t have Crick’s physical ceiling. ...
8) Heath Hembree, RHP, Grade B-: B- is a high grade for a relief prospect in my view. I think his command improvements are real and he should be a successful short man."

Edit: I figured there was a chance the news would break while I did this ... Escobar and Hembree is an insane return for two months of Peavy.
I doubt we're getting a top 15 prospect unless one of them had a major off year ...
RHP:
#7 Heath Hembree (Rel, AAA) #11 Clayton Blackburn (AA) #12 Derek Law (Rel, AA) #27 Cody Hall (Rel, AA) #30 Erik Cordier (Rel, AAA)
LHP:
#8 Ty Blach (AA) #20 Mike Kickham (AAA) #23 Josh Osich (Rel, AA) #24 Steven Okert (Rel, AA) #26 Jose DePaula (AAA)

Escobar is 22YO LH SP in AAA (scouting report from mlb.com #2 midseason prospect).
Hembree is 25YO RH closer in AAA (scouting report from mlb.com #11 midseason prospect).

Solid return for Peavy who was not going to fetch much more with his diminishing stuff.
