I've got nothing. This team has a very big flaw that is extrapolated by Farrell's shortcomings as a manager, despite me liking him. The pen is awful and he has no idea how to deal with it. Unlike some of you, I'm not putting all of this on him, but he deserves a fair share of the blame. Plenty to go around.

Why was there no move on the roster if they knew Ziegler could not pitch? Could have easily called up Kelly and sent down Hernandez

So glad Kimbrel can come in for the 9th inning. God forbid he's called on to help his team out in a situation where he doesn't feel absolutely, completely comfortable.

In general, I think Farrell gets too much blame for the Sox bullpen woes, but not going with Kimbrell there is absolutely indefensible. No reasonable excuse for it with an off day tomorrow.

Had to register just to comment finally- how is it even possible to have the same bullpen implosions over and over, you'd figure that Farrell would get lucky just by accident once in a while...

Farrell wants to be his players' friend. He wants the players to work things right, and he thinks he can fix them by trusting them.
meaning he may make a good shrink, but he is getting paid to manage players to produce wins.
This is why he is a career .500 manager. And far worse if not for 2013 - a team with so much leadership and motivation that it could practically manage itself.

You could have brought Brock Holt into pitch there. Tazawa doesn't belong even on our 40 man roster.

Face it, folks, this bullpen is terrible.
The question is, if the Sox don't score in the 8th, do you leave Tarawa in for the 9th? I ask because they have already used Ross, Barnes, Abad, and Tarawa. Buchholz is gassed and should not be available today. Ziegler is sick. That leaves Kimbrel and the only pen pitcher left standing. In a tie ballgame you have to think differently. The Sox need to score this half inning in the WORST way.

It would be nice to have a designated pinch runner to steal second base.

The ability to bunt is so underrated. That was a perfect sacrifice.

If a person has a fear of drowning, repeatedly throwing them into a pool does not a good shrink make... Farrell is not a good shrink.

If Tazawa faces Longoria I might die They should bring in Kimbrel anyway, and if they don't score here they get a second chance in the bottom of the 9th

And now we get a clean inning for Kimbrel, which he loves. Farrell is a genius.
