Were they really pitching around Marrero to load the bases? I really think Gallardo was just toast there and couldn't locate anymore.

I love that Altavilla guy pitching for the Mariners, great stuff there.
Bring in Robby Scott to face Cano, I think that's what Farrell is doing here.

Its nice to see Erod turning into a #2 before our eyes. He himself has referenced Porcello and Sale as instrumental in his growth, which goes to show how important vets are. Very happy for him (and us!).

Oh my god! Kimbrel didn't strike out a single batter. Tommy John looming. Farrell over used him. Fire Farrell.

Great time for the Sox to go on their first real run of the season. Hopefully better weather will bring more offense, but loving the pitching!

You know, the Red Sox won 4 games in a row and have looked much better since people started speculating heavily about Farrell's job security. I'm trying really hard not to make a connection here but screw it I'm making it anyway.

I hope E Rod can keep it up. I'll take 6 strong innings every time out and be real happy about it.

The players are probably worried we'll bring Bobby V back for an encore!

I was about to say don't be afraid to bunt with Marrero there, but he has been hitting a little lately. That's kind of a surprise for anyone. Even when he doesn't get a hit, he usually turns in long, grinding plate appearances. And he often gets hits in meaningful situatiions. He has turned 3B defense completely around, from terrible to above average; and he is contributing with the bat in an under-radar sort of way. If he continues all this, and can play 2B, 3B, SS, maybe 1B and can pinch run, he will have gone from struggling former prospect to valuable major leaguer. Good for him. And thanks for helping right this ship.

I'm with everyone on the Eduardo bandwagon. He is taking the next step, hopefully it continues. His changeup is taking his game to a new level. RHB can't touch the thing. I remember during one of the first or second Nelson Cruz at bats, he got Nelson to swing at one a foot out of the strikezone.
There hasn't been a better group of guys to help him grow with then Porcello, Price, and Sale. Eckersely even made a comment that Eduardo's recoil looked a lot like Price. No coincidence there.

Sloppy baserunning left this guy in for another inning. Two baserunning outs, ugh.

Sloppy baserunning left this guy in for another inning. Two baserunning outs, ugh. You got that right. We scored 3, but it could have been a gargantuan inning. When a pitcher is struggling this much, the offense needs to play it safe and make him get outs. Don't hand them outs. This easily could have been 6 and counting.

I'd love to see Johnson take a step forward and shine in this game. We would be overflowing with effective southpaws!
