Unable to watch. How is Brian Johnsons stuff so far? He is locating decently. Location is huge for a pitcher like Johnson.

Not sure where to find spin rates, but I'd love to see where Johnson rates. He is blowing it by some guys at 86 mph.
This is such a treat to watch him do well, especially against some good hitters. Only has 66 pitches through 5.

Damn, a 395 fly ball out to RF for Benintendi. That's an easy HR in all other 29 parks.

So the Sox have probably cost themselves at least 3 wins by starting Velazquez and Kendrick over Johnson. This is the truth.

I'm at the game today. As you guys can tell, I was able to give Johnson a few pointers before the game.

Only has 66 pitches through 5. Thru 6 now, still cruzing. He's got command of all 3 pitches, and nice sequencing: up down, both sides of the plate. He's setting 'em up and knocking them down.

He was the only guy to at least make a competitive outing in Toronto. He didn't look great there but it wasn't like he got bombed like Kendrick and Velazquez. Both Velazquez and Kendrick started 3 games and gave absolutely nothing. Okay maybe not 3 wins, but probably at least one or two wins.

Ok JF, remember. Johnson has 5 batters left before he is to be taken out, no matter the pitch count. Do not let him pitch to Segura a 4th time.

JBJ's HR wasn't his hardest hit ball of the game (108). He hit into a ground out earlier (110).

I'd love to see Johnson take a step forward and shine in this game. We would be overflowing with effective southpaws! He could singlehandedly save our farm system this summer. Sadly, you may be right.

Is Johnson going to go for the complete game shutout here? This is incredible.

Fastball hitting 91 in the 8th? Interesting.

Johnson threw 100 pitches, 79 for strikes.

He's at 100 pitches, and they have a comfortable lead. I'd take him out now while vibes are good.

No one is warming in the Sox bullpen. Farrell is going to give Johnson a shot at the complete game shutout.
