Mookie needs a HR to go to the ASG with a .700 SA.

He still got out of it. Thornburg looked good too today.

Phew, that was a great turn of events. Get out of the inning before Hernandez bats with runners on.

Is Cora revealing his depth chart here?
In a tiny SSS, Statcast has Brasier as the real deal so far.
Meanwhile, for all the agonizing over the pen, it's blown 4 games all year. And look who's been responsible:
3/29: Smith (-.69 WPA) and Kelly (-.20) 5/1: Kimbrel (-.17) and Hembree (-.13). Also Johnson in extras. 5/9: Kimbrel (-.47) and Barnes (-18) 6/15: Barnes (-.54) and Hembree (-.04)
That's two or three game-damaging outings by the current set-up crew (depending on whether you have Kelly in the mix) all year.

Cleveland tied it, 2-2 bottom of the 7th. The Indians just took the lead. Homer by Brantley in the 8th.

If Kimbrel's available today, I'd rather have him come in the 8th and face Hernandez/Smoak/Morales and then let literally anyone else face who's up in the 9th.

At least Cleveland is now up to 5-2 on the Yankees in the bottom of the 8th.

I was at that Royals blown save. Alex Gordon homer off Kimbrel.

Interesting/coincidental the Eck comment about the unusual nature of Sox rotation (heavy LHSP leaning)...
...as (if memory serves) towards the end of his time here, wasn't he part of a Sox pitching staff the last time Sox rotation was this lefty-leaning, w/ Hurst Ojeda Tudor?
