Bodes well for Bobby, I'd think. I dont't even know what would be good for Bobby anymore. You can bet that he was offered to every single team by now and every single team passed on giving something decent up. He is with a team that doesn't offer him playing time and no one else wants to give something up for him...and it's been this way for 3+ years...this must feel like hell for him. At some point the RedSox will just have to bite the bullet and set him free

I think Bobby's had ample opportunity here to carve a more permanent role, getting in 250 games and 800+ PA in his age 26 & 27 seasons (2021,22).
That he didn't perform better is on him, not that he didn't get a chance.
That said, I hope he kills it this year.

Cedanne making the team and the team's apparent willingness to play him at 2nd is pretty bad news for that "1B/3B/LF" bench spot. Injuries have already hit us and always happen so Dalbec will probably get plenty of days on the MLB bench, but I don't see how he gets in the lineup vs righties outside of Casas nicks or a semi rest day they want to DH him. And if Refsnyder can cover 1B on those days he's also a righty platoon bat and plays much better OF defense.
How do people think the Sox will line up opening day? C/1B/3B/SS/DH seem locked in enough, then you have the 3 lefties in Valdez, Duran, Abreu to match up vs Castillo along with Cedanne and O'Neil, which one sits?

Pablo Reyes is probably a better hitter at this point and despite his height I'd rather have him fielding at 1B too. I would rather have Hamilton as a pinch runner than Dalbec tbh.

If Pablo Reyes plays even one inning of first base this season, something will have gone very badly wrong.

A "standing offer" to Monty is better than no offer!

If Dalbec struggles, I wonder if Jamie Westbrook could get a look (assuming they don't want 6 outfielders).
Experience at 2B, 3B, RF, LF (1 game each at SS and 1B), but has never had a big league regular season at-bat. Hit .286/.405/.486 with 6bb and 8k in 41 PA in spring training. Last year hit .294/.400/.496 with 67bb and 81k in AAA.
Only 5'7", seems similar to chase Meidroth (although he's 28). Not on the 40-man, which makes it a bit tougher. I always enjoy seeing guys like him who have played well enough to earn a chance get a few big league at bats, even though it typically doesn't work out long term.
