Wasn't sure where to put this. Thought you guys might find this funny. Gammo was on Mike Francesa. Talking about what tremendous stuff Buchholz has and Gammo adds what a great athlete he is too. Ran a 4.2 forty coming out of high school? Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders, Randy Moss and Clay Buchholz. Which one doesn't belong on that list?

He and Jacoby talked about having a footrace a few years ago in spring training. I think Francona didn't let it happen. Or something like that.

It's true. Believe it or not, there was a serious argument about who was faster. Don't know if that qualifies him to be in the backfield - offensive or defensive - or a wideout, but it may make him a contender in a foot race.

He did pinch-run a few years ago against Texas. It was pretty ugly. I think he stumbled, fell down, and got thrown out. He also got hurt running the bases in interleague in 2010, I believe as well. Maybe he is fast, but baserunning and Buchholz haven't gone together well.

Is it understood that Masterson is Indians Ace and Buccholz is for Sox? That 2005 first round draft by sox is turning out to be more impressive than ever. I wonder if he would have had the same success in Boston though.

Masterson is not an ace. He's a credible fourth starter who happens to be the best pitcher the Indians have.

Masterson was drafted in 2006.
Since the start of 2011, Masterson has a 101 ERA+, so yeah, he's basically a 3/4 like FTHW said, though his durability makes him a pretty good one. If he's going to keep striking out a quarter of the batters he faces though, he's moved beyond that. He's throwing his slider quite a bit more, so that may be an improved pitch, but it also looks like he's getting some luck on fly balls against lefthanded batters, which has always been his weakness.

Not a good job by WMB. It's not just him. It's league wide. What has happened to the expression, it's too close to take? Try to foul it off or ground out to 2nd and move the runner to third. Had you done that. It would be 1-1. S. Drew follows up with a deep fly ball.

Dempster keeps missing high. Why is there noone in the bullpen? Dempster is at 79 pitches and has walked three in the inning.

Dempster has has poor control for four starts now. Either he's hiding an injury or reverting to the suck many predicted. Or both

I really questioned why they would send ellsbury on that short ball with no outs.

Unreal sequence (thrown out, 3 run HR). Game should be tied. Ortiz has bailed their sorry asses out again. Now all Dempster has to do is wake up for a few innings.

I'm just not sure why Mortensen is on this team. There have to be better options.

I'm just not sure why Mortensen is on this team. There have to be better options. If we're going to stay in the playoff race. I think we'll have to get something out of Webster and Rubby. Two power arms whom are nearly major league ready. Don't want to trade any assets for veteran pitching without many positions in the field settled. Agree about Dempster being injured. It's odd how he can't get that fastball down. DL him and let Morales get a few starts for now. Come back healthy. He was pitching well before the last couple of starts. After being a little wild early in his career. The last five years his BB/rate per 9 has been; 3.3, 2.9, 3.6, 3.6 and 2.7. This year it's up to 4.3 and creeping up

Dempster is looking worse with every start so far. I don't think it is a good idea to convert an NL starter to the AL. Hope things turn around soon.
