Mid-weed day game? Don't see those often, although as an unemployed post-grad I won't complain.
On an unrelated note, anyone hiring?

Interested in seeing this Myers kid. And right on que, for all the Keith Law Lovers/Haters/Imitators, he has a new piece (insider only) on expectations for guys who've been - or may be - called up and Myers is right there -as well as a Sox prospect who Law opines may be an option for a spot start. Excerpt: Myers excerptMyers has always been a high-walk hitter, but not always as disciplined as you would expect given the stat lines, something that became more apparent this year in Triple-A, where pitchers with some big league experience could get him to get himself out at the plate. He's been on a tear of late, with 10 homers in his past 104 plate appearance (dating to the start of a four-game series in Scranton), a .354/.385/.760 line in that period and a declining strikeout rate. And the Red Sox spot starter option excerpt: I'm stretching a little here to discuss Ranaudo, as it's not clear that he'd be the next pitcher recalled if the Red Sox need another starter...This year, his stuff is more than back -- he's been 92-95 consistently with a plus-plus curveball, hard in the low to mid-80s, and he's back to his old aggressive dare-you-to-hit-this mentality on the mound, as well. I don't expect the Red Sox to rush him, but, at some point, they'll have to try someone other than Allen Webster to fill a hole in the rotation. More for the haters: Law is a guy who has long predicted Ranaudo could be a solid #2 starter if he could avoid the injuries that have dogged him in the last few years.

Franklin Morales out stretching with Salty. No sign of Aceves yet, per NESN pre- game.
Aceves just went out. He must warm up fast.

Gameday has an injury delay while Otriz is batting. Sorry I can't wait the 2 minutes for it to update, what happened? Foul tip got Molina square in the face. From the thrill of victory(Bruins two wins from another Cup) to the agony of defeat(Jim Rice doing the color) in 14 hours. Dear god, please tell me that he's not doing tonights game too.

3 walks and one double in an inning. One run allowed?

Anyone know if Igelsias has some mad, small sample dominance vs. Odorizzi in AAA this year? Just wondered why they didn't start Jose in the day game to ensure the win.

This game might be getting rain delayed pretty soon. It's absolutely pouring right now about 15 miles west of Boston.

Not a great day for rain. I'm in Wellesley right now, about 10 miles west of Boston, and the skies are looking rather ominous, but no rain yet. At least it seems like it will be more of an off-and-on rain type of day instead of steady showers.

Don't think Archer will make it more than 5 innings, was hoping to knock him out of the game sooner.

Napoli is still getting on base around .350. His ISO is down 40 points from his career average, if he adds 20-30 points to his slugging numbers I think we can live with the strikeouts. I am not really sure we are in the position to be complaining about hitting, we score the most runs in the majors, are 2nd in OBP and 3rd in Slugging. Fangraphs has us first in MLB in wOBA also.
We seem to have terrible luck with rain with our starters. Aceves was in line to pitch 1-2 more innings. Any word on the delay, I am only watching gameday at work.

Aceves did well, would have been nice to get 7 out of him. Tarp on the field, still raining pretty hard at 3.50PM.

www.weather.com/weather/hourbyhour/graph/Boston+MA+02114:4:USLooks like rain for another 1.5 hours or so. MLB rule is they must complete the first game before they can begin the second game. Wonder if they will actually call the first game even if it clears around, say, 6:00 as it takes them another 1/2 hour or more to get the field ready.

If both teams were off yesterday, why didn't they play one game then? Maybe scheduling or ticket sales, idk. Seems smarter than day off - double header.

Fortunately, they've just barely played enough innings to call it.

Fortunately, they've just barely played enough innings to call it. Doesn't the game have to go 5 innings to become official? Is it not a full 5 innings?
