I would take Aiken at #7 considering the lack of picks after and the fact we don't expect to draft that high in the future. It's simple a best player available situation of you ask me.

I'm very worried about his health. I would let someone have him if they ate his salary. I'm fine with Castillo/JBJ/Craig/Nava to start in the last OF spot the rest of the year. Completely agree with this. His health is in rapid decline and we have several capable options. It does however require two to tango just need as you said a team willing to eat some salary.

I am firmly in the camp that sends Castillo to Pawtucket for the AB's while we keep Craig and Shane up in Boston as long as both are healthy. When the eventual breakdown happens you bring up a highly motivated Castillo and part way with one or both of Craig/Shane..

Solid outings from all three starters. I view this as an important step towards 2015 and I am seeing the emergence of a rotation with Buch, Webster and RDLR as a 2-5 starters. RS just needs to go out and get an ace now.

I vote that he is hurt and just needs to recover properly. I refuse to believe that you can go from an OPS in the upper .800 to the .630 it has been this year. His mechanics are there I am just think he has pain in his ankle every time he swings.

It's not like one has to stay and one has to go. In a couple years we could have a rotating DH. We don't know what the finished product with either will be. And as far as Vazquez's offense goes, it looks fine to me. Yadi looked awful for years, nobody thought he'd make it where he has with his bat. Catchers' bats develop much slower than other players. Vazquez K/BB is impressive and his frame suggests he'll have average pop at least. I'd give him plenty at time to adjust. He most likely isn't the next Yadi, but he is and will be an asset to any team. If you have to choose between the two, I think Vazquez would be undervalued by other teams, whereas Swihart wouldn't be. Take that as you will. We shouldn't feel pressured to have to choose one anytime soon. I agree with this here. I think Vazquez will be a light hitting version of Y. Molina and I think that would be good enough and Ortiz can't play forever so at some point RS will need a new DH and I could see Swihart take that role when Vazquez is behind dish.

I am in on signing Castillo. Fact is Red Sox OF is a mess with no immediate prospects waiting to be called up. But I am sure some team will overpay.

I am fine with Sox doing auditions the rest of 2014. I would also feel comfortable with a rotation next year that is #1 FA/Lester/Zimmerman #2 Bucholz #3 Kelly #4 RDLR #5 Webster/Ranaudo/Workman
