Seriously, I want to give the everyday job to Carp. He's done nothing to say that he can't do it and he has a very pretty swing. He should be playing more and have an everyday job somewhere if not with the Sox. Carp is striking out almost 31% of the time. The only reason we don't hate him as much as Napoli is because he bats less often.

What makes you think I'm not enjoying the ride? Yeah, I don't know how he could have gotten that impression.

Using words like disgraceful, and saying someone should be DFA'ed immediately after the game..... Yeah, no overreacting going on in this thread. You know, if people are slamming the decision to start Wright a little too harshly, they're still right that it was a bad decision. It's an error of degree, not of type. Which is what overreacting means....

Workman is a starter. He is meant to be one. In his 3 starts this year, he did very well. As a reliever, well... bad. He is obviously not comfortable coming out of the 'pen. And what was the sample size of him being a reliever? I mean it must be huge if it is "obvious" he isnt comfortable.

This might seem a little out of the blue but damn, you guys are making this board unreadable..... Stop your constant whining. Besides this being a first place in baseball team, therefore nothing to really whine about, the lot of you are just coming off as whiny babies that think you know a lot more about baseball that you really do. Read through tonight's thread... It's getting embarrasing The Snyder complaints are perfectly legit. Notwithstanding he cost us a game in LA, but we have a top 3 prospect in baseball just SITTING at AAA. I have no problem with bringing up complaints....I completely agree with some of them, but deciding that you're going to call Napoli a useless pile of crap every time he doesn't get a homerun or calling Holt a loser each time he's in the lineup is getting old. This place is better than that. I will admit that it's only few that are doing this, but it's getting really really old. EDIT: And if you want to spend your night saying how much Napoli or Holt or anyone sucks then start a damn thread. Stop polluting the daily threads with garbage.

Jerry Crasnick ?@jcrasnick 6m Rowland-Smith can opt out at any time if another club adds him to 25-man roster. He's 5-0 w/ 1.58 ERA in 45.2 IP with Pawsox. So he's basically a free agent pitching for Pawtucket?

Note: TOR has the 11th pick in the draft (Bickford), MIA has the 36th pick in the draft (Krook) and a supplemental 3rd round pick (DeLuzio). Therefore, even if TOR finishes in with a top-ten pick, they could lose the #11 pick if they sign a free agent who received a QO. Previous years picks aren't protected anymore?

Just to clarify, because I've seen this posted a few times; the only thing the tiebreaker does is give home field advantage in a one game playoff to determine the division winner. Even if both teams are playoff bound they still play game 163? Yes. Google search MLB tiebreaker rules and it comes up through the mlb.com site (I would link it but I'm on my phone and can't paste into the text box for some reason)

Wow I always have to sign in. I get kicked out often. I am the first to blast Drew . So I want to thank him for the walk off win. I didn't think we were gonna get it. Britton looks sweet. Back in 1st place and we have tie breaker. Tough one tomm. With King Felix. Just to clarify, because I've seen this posted a few times; the only thing the tiebreaker does is give home field advantage in a one game playoff to determine the division winner.

Koji is a free agent too I don't see how they protect Hazelbaker instead of Hassan. Not that anyone said they would, but I don't see it. they obviously like Hassan a lot to protect him this year and he's done nothing but reinforce whatever good feelings they would have had. No, Koji is arb-3 this year. I think they'll leave JHaze unprotected. I know it doesn't show up through Cot's, but Koji has had it in every contract he has signed that he is a free agent at the end of the contract. Are we sure that isn't in his current deal as well?

I do want to remind everyone that Jose Iglesias, light-hitting though he may be, is probably no worse than an averagish shortstop if given a full season's worth of at-bats. He makes enough contact to sustain a batting average at least in the .250 range, with improving plate discipline and truly elite defense. That's a real asset, even if he was inevitably going to be displaced by Xander in Boston. It's a price I'm happy to pay for a well above-average pitcher in Peavy, but it's not like he was a throwaway piece. Yup. I wish Iglesias all the best in Detriot, where he will in all likelihood start his collection of gold glove awards. He's not nearly a good enough offensive player to win a gold glove.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Buch, Lester, Peavy, Lackey, and Doubront all under contract for next season as well? Not complaining at all, you can never have enough pitching and one can always be dealt, just curious. And Dempster

Gordon Edes ?@gordonedes 1m Told Bradley, Iglesias not going to Philly for Lee Hope it's true, but I won't celebrate for another 18 hours. So is Ben Cherington not an idiot anymore? Just curious how that works....

Just a few notes from Amaro. Not much to see here:
They are still discussing trades where they are buyers and not sellers.
Not in a hurry to trade anyone.
Very little chance of Lee being moved. Sees him retiring as a Phillie.
As a whole he wants as many long term pitching assets as possible so doesn't see Papelbon being moved, either.

Really? Is going down .5 in the division in July (While still holding a solid Wild Card lead) the end of the season? Because that's what must win means.... Its not about that. Its about going into the Baltimore series on a good note. Losing 3/4 to the Rays on your home turf is not a good feeling. Losing never has a good feeling. Doesn't mean all 162 games are must win.
