Sorry for the length on this one. I thought I saw one minor issue and it turned into a larger one (possibly much larger). It could also be that I'm not understanding the rules correctly in which case I apologize for wasting your time. I'll do my best to explain what I think needs corrected.
I was looking at what years certain players will be rule 5 eligible compared to when they will become minor league free agents. It looks to me that international players are always eligible for the rule 5 draft 3 years before being free agents. For example, according to his player page and the Wiki Manny Rivera was signed in 2006 and eligible for the Rule 5 Draft in 2010, 2011 and 2012. From there he will become a free agent after 2013. Likewise, Almanzar was signed in 2007, was rule 5 eligible in 2011 and 2012, will be rule 5 eligible in 2013, but won't be a free agent until after 2014.
Assuming those years are correct on their player page and the Wiki, it seems like there is a problem on the player pages for a large amount of international signees. Just looking at 2011 and 2012 International Signing Class it looks like Luis Ortega, Randy Perez, Victor Ramirez and Heri Quevedo are the only ones that are correctly showing their first rule 5 year being after 2015 and being a Free Agent after 2018. The other players in that draft class are showing incorrectly (either being 2015 & 2017, or 2016 & 2018).
It doesn't look like that problem is contained in that signing class either. There are inconsistencies throughout the classes. Again, if I am missing a rule here I apologize.

Next year's draft is supposed to be loaded so they could have 2 high 1st round picks. I don't think I feel good about them not signing Bickford. I hear ya but they have a history of not signing picks (Beede and at least one other I do believe) so they may not cash in like you might think. They have to be somewhat conservative with that pick next year because its not protected. I'm pretty sure that picks are now protected for 2 years. So teams don't have to be quite as conservative as they once had to be. Here is a link that talks about it.

Brandon Jacobs to Portland. Pushing him, kind of like they did with Renfroe to Salem last year? Jacobs has been hitting better of late and his contact has been for more XBH. May be finding out if he is going to be worth the 40 man spot or not this last 2 months. I'm curious why De La Cruz wasn't the one the get the bump, though. He has had a much better year than Jacobs and is also Rule 5 eligible.

I'm worried...I think he's entering that tender age when we start seeing decline. He's been strong over the years but peak years only last so long. We might want to cut bait and see what we can get before it's too late. Happy Birthday Mike. Thanks for all you do.

It looks like the rule 5 eligibility wiki is is need of some corrections. While I could be wrong, I'm pretty sure no one should be showing up as eligible for the 2018 draft just yet. But if I'm wrong about that it doesn't explain why the most recent international signings are eligible in 2017 while this year's high school draftees aren't eligible until 2018.
Similarly, it looks like some college draftees are being shown as Rule 5 eligible in 2016 (Adams, Littrell) and some eligible in 2017 (Allday, Asuaje).

Heri Quevedo's age is listed as 32 in his player page.

The guy I don't get being called up before Diaz is Drew Sutton. He can play 3B and appears to be the better of the two options if you need someone to start for a while until Drew is healthy. In that scenario who plays short if Iglesias leaves with an injury?

So what's the counter move for the 40 man? Bard to the 60 day?
Edit: What he said...

Tell Bregman to leave the guy alone, he had his chance. More like we had our chance. Should have locked Bregman up. Don't rewrite history. That was never an option.

Can't find the tweet, but he tweeted last night he would be getting the start today. And apparently he did not. However, the team did announce the signing. My guess is he goes Monday. I was traveling all day today and I couldn't find the tweet on my phone. After not getting the start I thought I must have just read his tweet wrong, but I didn't.

Any eta on Denney? I guess he is not officially signed, as he's not on the roster yet. Can't find the tweet, but he tweeted last night he would be getting the start today.

Britton still starting at this point says to me that they view him as trade bait now more than as a prospect who can help the big club. He's on the 40 and out of options and clearly his only role in Boston would be in the bullpen yet he's still starting. I think they don't want to lower his trade value to somebody who might still like him as a starter. Thoughts. According to his player page he will still have an option remaining next year. There is less rush than you think.

If they couldn't get at least $200,000 of savings from Stankiewicz I seriously doubt they can get almost $250,000 from Ball. I think he will come in just barely under the slot value, sadly.

I think I actually put more stock in the random guy on bleacher report making an unsubstantiated comment that the sox had the best draft than I do Kieth Law liking our draft. The Keith Law hate around here is ridiculous. This a million times.

Our 20th and 22nd picks have turned the Sox down and decided to stay with their commitments. My question is that they mentioned they will re-enter the draft in 3 years, is this a new rule or can they re-enter next year? If they go to a 4 year school they have to wait 3 years, or until they turn 21,whichever comes first. They can re-enter next year if they attend a Juco.

What counts towards the cap in the later rounds? The full amount if they go over $100,000 or only the overage?
For example, if a player signs for $100,001, does the full amount count towards the cap or just $1?

Does anyone think of Brandon Workman while reading Corey Littrell's scouting report? Don't see that at all. If anything it's Chris Hernandez.

I read somewhere that Appel was a 3rd round pick. Would he be a reach at 45? No, but call Keith Law "read somewhere" is a reach. I should have put that in italics apparently....and it certainly wasn't Keith Law. Think more locally.
