"He's already burning an option this year"
How so? i.e. if he never would have been called up this year

Kimbrel's career BB% is 10%, and has been trending in the wrong direction (an unacceptable 13.6% last year).
It's at 4% this year; I'm very skeptical that this is real

I saw that the Redbirds called up Magneuris Sierra - a 21-year-old who just this year reached high A. Now he's purely a speed and defense guy, and is only up until DL's are healed, but they did start him immediately. I don't think Devers' defense is that much better than what they have, although what they have now is pretty awful

Well, we know now for sure you lack the good education and good sense to admit when you're wrong.

I don't think that's a good idea, but I also don't think anyone should exaggerate the disastrous consequences if he doesn't do well

Betts RF, Pedroia 2B, Bogaerts SS, Benintendi CF, Ramirez DH, Moreland 1B, Young LF, Leon C, Rutledge 3B.
Betts leading off is fine, but any benefit you get from it is obviated by hitting Pedroia 2nd - he needs to move to the bottom of the lineup permanently

Q. "Do you think there was any intent on that fastball that hit Betts?"
Pedroia: "Bruh, I don't know. I'm more concerned that we're trying to play better baseball"
Q. "If there was would it be an issue?"
Pedroia: "I don't . . . Can I go home?"
This isn't hard, unless you're pushing your own school-marmism, of course

It is pretty much the same approach that will have taken Jeter to the HOF

Is there a safer play in baseball than bunting to the Red Sox' 3B?

Bradley's hit streak began on 24 April last year

The Orioles play their worst infield arm at SS; don't see that often

You would think there's some minor league 3B (non-prospect) that's a stud defender that could put up a 600 OPS available

Sorry to bust the false narrative, but you're wrong; he was called up on 28 June after less than a month in Pawtucket, with a 425/444
he did go 0/4 with a BB in his first game

Mookie put up a 158+ at AAA - not exactly "growing pains"

Since the league will not protect the Red Sox and only punish them, they will feel that they need to protect themselves and thus lead to more of this, not less. So blame the league, not the Red Sox. This is complete nonsense and shows a clear bias that the league has against the Red Sox. I wonder if anyone on the Red Sox submitted the video of Benintendi almost getting decapitated to the league for review. I think if you polled fans or journalists across the country, something like 80% of them would side with the Orioles in this one. At least that's roughly the breakdown I've seen in national media outlets and the couple of comment sections that I read and that aren't total cesspools. And?

Benintendi should be able to play RF - he hadn't played LF before they put him there either, he already cost them at least a couple of runs when he played CF during Bradley's DL stint.
As I wrote at the beginning of last year they should never have moved Mookie off of CF (another Dombrowski bonehead decision) - my eyes told me he was at least as good as Bradley and the statcast data confirms it.

Why is Benintendi starting in CF over Betts? There is simply no data, objective or subjective, that indicates he is anywhere close to Betts.
