Lots of Top 250 guys coming off the board to start the 11th round.

I can't help but think they left money on the table today. I think they may have been influenced by the 11th round last year which saw Caden Dana sign for 1.49 million with the Angels and Ryan Clifford sign for 1.2 with Houston (along with a bunch of other 500k+ deals).
The strategy could be to save the max amount of money from round 6-10 and throw a big number at your favorite high school guy left (then later in the draft target a safety pick for that pick).. make them turn down the money.
I'd be very surprised if the Red Sox pick in round 11 isn't a top 150-225 guy.

Well no Brooks Brannon this year. Likely means the first 5-6 picks take up the slot money, although I feel like the Red Sox will have some money to potentially splash at the top of tomorrow if they can find a fish to take it.

One more shot today and they can always risk it tomorrow at the top of the 11th round if they want, without losing the bonus.
They obviously have a detailed plan with the money down to the dollar, so we shall see.

Yeah, though going by the MLB draft tracker the Red Sox are way below most teams in having only three ranked picks so far. The only other teams with only three are the Yankees and Padres (who have each only had 5 draft picks total so far) and the Rangers (6 draft picks total). Seems like the Red Sox have had an unusually top-heavy draft to this point.
You can not go by just MLB Pipeline nowadays. Most of their players are highly ranked somewhere. For example, Justin Riemer is not listed on BA/MLB, but Kiley McDaniel has him #113. Connelly Early, not ranked many places, but Keith Law has him in his top 130. The only two players of the Red Sox who are "unranked" so far are Caden Rose and O'Donnell.

Welp, another way way under-slot senior sign. Seems like it will be round 9, as it was the game plan with Brannon last year if they try to sign a top player left.

Lots of High ranked players still being picked, it feels like it's the time to take a chance on one right now.

It definitely seems like they are setting up one of their next couple of picks.

Caden Sorrell has withdrawn from the draft based on reports so he won't be the high upside signability pick.

Historically the 6th, 7th, and 8th rounds are where the Red Sox have saved their most money in recent years. With different bonus pool and pick structure thi year we will see if it follows.

I'd be willing to bet that there is at least one high upside HS player coming in the next four picks and probably one to start round 11/12.

Going back to the Connelly Early pick, here is Keith Law's scouting report on him in his "Other Prospects to Know", essentially his Top 30 outside his Top 100.

Not tweeting it out because I can't confirm, but I heard Teel may have been underslot by quite a bit. Woah if true, that should leave money for at least 1 High School pick before the end of the day that they can sign.

With the last three picks, I think it's a pretty good bet, Red Sox have a HS target they can cut a deal with before the day ends ala Brooks Brannon, esp. if you factor in the 5% overage ability.

Red Sox have back to back picks coming up in two. Should be very interesting the direction they go and tell us a lot about the rest of their plan.

Money Saving Pick, I would think they go with a higher upside guy with one of their next two comp picks.
