According to Morosi, Sanchez wants around 90 million dollars. I'm not giving him 90 million dollars but, I would be willing to give him close to 60-65 million based on age and the fact he is on the up tick in his career.

I'm not just talking about it with regards to Cody Ross. I don't even want Cody Ross back, especially on a multi-year deal. But, Cherington himself has said he is extremely deliberate and takes a lot of time to make decisions. This off-season decisions are going to have to be made quick, with many balls in the air at once. All I am saying is that Cherington's nature concerns me a little bit going into the off-season and could hinder the team in negotiations/trade talks.

Cherington has one major weakness that has been evident over the first year of his reign as GM, and it's how long it takes him to make decisions.
This has become even more evident with the Cody Ross situation. Ross is quoted as saying"I would say it's a little slower pace as far it working out with the Red Sox," he said. "It's been a little slower than I thought."They had a chance to trade me at the deadline and get something decent in return, and didn't trade me in hopes of re-signing me. It just hasn't happened.
Now we remember last season how long it took him to make desicions in the off-season, how long it took to make roster/personnel decision regarding the roster and admittedly how long it took him to decide to trade Beckett, etc.
I think this is a major flaw of his that scares me a little bit heading into an importnat off-season. Cherington has had 3 months to put his plan in place, things move really fast in the off-season and if Cherington is going to struggle to pull the trigger on things it's really going to hurt this team. Thoughts?

Ken Rosenthal @ken_Rosenthal Source: Marmol would have OK'ed trade to #Angels, but #Cubs pulled deal off table and trade is not happening. Angels talking to other clubs.

Ken Rosenthal @ken_Rosenthal Haren-for-Marmol NOT done. #Angels continue to talk to other clubs. #Cubs asked Marmol about teams on his no-trade and whether he would MORE
Ken Rosenthal @ken_Rosenthal agree to trade to #Angels. Again, no deal with #Cubs is complete. Possible, but not complete.

Looks like Haren is on his way to the Cubs for Carlos Marmol... another missed opportunity by Ben Cherington.

Sounds like the Red Sox are definitely in on Haren.. and here is thie gem from the LA Times.
@mikedigiovanna: Would not be surprised if #Angels try to send Haren & Wells to #RedSox, maybe for Lackey.

Alex Speier has said that the Red Sox will be receiving a player on the Blue Jays 40 man roster. Albeit on the fringe.
Speculation? I wouldn't mind Brad Lincoln

I love how Nick Cafardo is already out there tweeting out what position Aviles is slated to play for Toronto... the guy missed the story and now is desperate to try and break some meaningless info

Jon Morosi @jonmorosi I'm told #BlueJays are getting an infielder. And no, not Will Middlebrooks
HAS to be Aviles.. or Ciriaco

Bard, Aviles, Bailey, Melacon, Doubront (only if we get MLB back), Ciriaco, Kalish?

Jon Morosi @jonmorosi Source: In John Farrell trade, it appears one player will go in *each* direction. So #RedSox will get a player from #BlueJays too.
This is nothing new, because its the MLB rule. But, maybe he means a player of some worth

I will say they gave up one of Stolmy Pimental, Alex Wilson or Drake Britton. I don't think it will be more than that, but something of substance. I saw Jim Callis guess it was Pimental and I think it makes sense.

Drew Ward who is the #2 HS prospect for the 2014 draft accoring to Perfect Game, says there is a 95% chance he will graduate early and enter the 2013 draft.
Great news for the Red Sox. Another top quality player that will either push one of the top 6 down or could be there for the Red Sox to select.

I will say that having the Marlins picking directly in front of us still helps us a little bit. Even with the new slotting system they refuse to take the "tough sign" guys. They came down to the wire with Heaney last year who was one of the easiest signs in the draft
