As a geneticist it always cracks me up listening to some people talk about genetics- and then I get the sudden fear that I sound this crazy when speaking about something outside the things I have studied... Let me get this straight, you are saying that we are freaking out about an actual virus that infects actual people, and then you go on an anti-vax tangent? Please just stop.
FYI, putting RNA into cells to get them to make a protein that then gets presented to immune cells to help teach them what to kill in your body does NOT involve altering DNA at all. Moreover, there is no vaccine yet for COVID-19, so we do not know exactly what type of vaccine will be made, but I can tell you that with the speed at which this will be made, it almost has to be with standard vaccine technology (proteins or parts of proteins). The definition of vaccine does not necessarily include the words safe and effective. The link I provided earlier listed all of the vaccines being developed for corona. Most of them are gene injection therapy, which as the other link I posted shows, alters DNA. One of the "features" of this new technology is quickness of development. Putting RNA into cells to replicate is altering DNA. How else does it replicate? The only way that cells replicate is by copying DNA. Go get 12 of them to be safe and continue to trust the people who run the world who thirst for extreme power over people and trillions of dollars. The world is going great thanks to them. All they ever do is tell the truth and have extreme compassion for human life.

How is our starting pitching this awful across the board? At what point is it a coaching/game plan issue?

I know it’s one play- but when you’re batting under .200 you really can’t afford to be making those sort of terrible plays in the field.

Does anyone else think Smart would be a much more valuable if he shot 95% less?

Realistic for JBJ to be the primary asset in a off season trade for Stanton?

I feel like that is grounds to fire third base coach as soon as he comes into dugout. Just tell him to wait in the locker room with Farrel. Absolutely unforgivable call to send him there.

On the bright side, this is a timely preview of the team's next manager. Yup, Alex Cora looking good in the Astros’ dugout. :-)

Seems to me like they think Astros are definitely stealing signs.

Would be amazing if they went to Vasquez here.

whole lotta of whining around here, perhaps you guys should enjoy other teams and leagues. I think it’s just tough, not just losing- but having the least competitive series so far is mentally draining.

I don't know about you guys but I'm glad to see Marrero and Young in the line up- you want all the starters rested for when the playoffs start next week.

I know the game is out of hand now- but is there any reason the first three guys out of the bullpen are Kelly, Maddox, and Porcello after multiple days off and with multiple days off during the series?

But at least our good bullpen arms will be rested.

Would it surprise anyone if Holt is leadoff again? Holt 7th, fortunately. Eduardo Nunez, 3B Andrew Benintendi, LF Mookie Betts, RF Hanley Ramirez, DH Mitch Moreland, 1B Xander Bogaerts, SS Brock Holt, 2B Sandy Leon, C Jackie Bradley Jr., CF

He's seen 36 breaking balls this year and has a double, triple and homer. 1 single against 105 fastballs. Overcompensating for breaking ball problems and now too late on fastballs?

Thank god Ownership stepped in and stopped this travesty. He's been as advertised. Overrated. He strips farms barren in order to try and chase a title everywhere he goes. Team could have Espinoza (Tommy John I know) Shaw (Possible NL MVP) Moncada Margot Kopech and others instead all they have to show for all of those deals more or less is Pomeranz Kimbrel and Sale. Fine players but 5 years from now give me Moncada Kopech Margot Shaw Espinoza and others. This guy has needed to go for a while now and can take Manager John with him. Trade Pedroia for a few prospects which they should have done two years ago. Team should be getting younger not aging. If he wants to do something good this offseason trade anyone on the roster over 31 and build like the Astros have. Put an emphasis back on player development. I never thought I would say the organization took a step back from Ben but at least we were flush with elite talent in the minors. Devers being promoted has put the Sox as a bottom 3 farm system maybe the worst in Baseball. Groome isn't a true #1 prospect he's shown more Trey Ball than anything else. Did you just call Chris Sale a 'fine player'?

Will Devers still have rookie eligibility next year?

The only thing I've been thinking through this prolonged team slump is that if they start to turn it around they could go on a real hot streak - pretty much everyone but Pedroia was slumping, so if they get hot all together they could reel off a nice win streak... though I've been thing that for a while now.

Well this team is in a funk. Fister is garbage, but that's not the problem. This offense... hard to win when there substandard bats at third, first and DH. Don't forget catcher and currently SS.

Looks like Mookie is out- but man that is a situation where they could've tagged two runners out at the plate in the span of a second... don't think I've ever seen that before. Well that is... awkward.

Feels like it's time for Mookie's first homerun of the season.

This blog (which is now about 7 years old) says it was the 11th worst start in the history of baseball, second worst start in Red Sox history (behind Howard Ehmke's -34 thrown in 1923), and tied for the second worst start since 1936. We are all witness to history.

Throws 99 mph, and goes with back to back breaking balls with game tied in 8th, full count, and bases loaded.
Interesting.
