If Vazquez exceeds his scouting report and is a strong starting MLB catcher, I think Swihart is athletic enough to handle just about any other position. Nice problem to have. He seems to be Biggioesque and could follow suit to 2nd base. Oh I forgot about Pedroia and the Red Sox 2nd base prospects which are hitting something north of 370 as a group.

Copied from the game thread... Just for fun: 35 games played 80 times reached base 33 games with a hit 19 multi-hit games 44 runs scored 24 RBI 18 SB 59 hits 6 HR 1 3B 12 2B 13 K 19 BB over 150 games, that would be: 343 times reached base 141 games with a hit 81 multi-hit games 188 runs scored 102 RBI 77 SB 252 hits 25 HR 4 3B 51 2B 55 K 81 BB If I did not know better I would think he is the hitting version of Sidd Finch.

Though its a small sample size, Jantzen Witte is putting up some, "hey look at me numbers" in Greenville. Soxprospects scouting report does not say very much about his hitting strengths and weaknesses. His hitting has progressed since his first year in the pros. Will his hitting continue when he moves to high A or will Greenville be Witte's end.

Pedroia signed for reasonable money for the next several years. Betts the next Zobrist. Rijo the next Zobrist. Gragnani the next Zobrist. And lest I forget Asuagi the next Zobrist. I see a pattern here.

He seems to be breaking out this year in Portland. Given that he did not start playing baseball full time until a few years ago what is his upside? He has the size and the body. Are we looking at a reserve outfielder or starter at the major league level.

Last year the discussion was Betts and 4 others for Stanton. At the start of the year it was Betts even up for Stanton. Now maybe it should be Fernadez even up for Betts??

If the right circumstances present themselves such as a good year in AA and or AAA and injuries to lefties such as Doubront and Lester, I would not be shocked to see Owens starting by August.

Is there a case for Henry Owens to be considered the Red Sox Number 2 prospect behind Xander? 9 out of 9 votes said no when he was ranked 8th yet Owens ended up 3rd and there is a strong case that after seeing a small sample of Bradley in the majors that he should have been ranked 2nd. Should he have been ranked ahead of Bradley?

Can't believe we gave Oakland Head. It could have been worse if we included Titts.
