Owens re-establishing himself again lately. I love how he seems to make adjustments with his experiences.

Well I don't think that that game could have left a much worse taste in the mouth. Praying Buccholz isn't seriously hurt. Let's stomp them tomorrow and get some good mojo back.

Wow, pitcher gets taken out after exactly 3 turns through the rotation? Why can't we have a manager like that? But they bring in a lefty to face Mookie, so not necessarily the greatest move but I get your logic.

I think NESN showed some stat that said Barnes is giving up a .345 average to RHH. That's just unreal. My untrained eye tells me that the combo of his inability to throw to the glove side and his inconsistent breaking ball lead to this. He has work to do if he will ever get better.

Kopech went a little bit wild tonight, 5bb. Been a while since we have seen too much of that from him.

As soon as Ortiz lined out I just had a bad feeling about that inning. Damn.

Owens had an ok game today. 6 2/3 with 7 k's. Four earned runs, but I like seeing the strikeouts and wonder what happened in that one bad inning.

What kind of innings limit do they usually have for guys like Kopech? Had his longest outing of the year tonight and has been pretty darn good this year. Really excited about him.

Ogando has been a solid signing. Couple rough outings but not bad for a middle relief guy on a small deal

Once again, the Blue Jays long men have come in and shut it down.

Papi going yard against the lefty is a good sign. Estrada is a righty.

Cherington needs to tell Farrell he is wrong about things and keep Swihart up. The kid is adjusting nicely, and Hannigan caught Buchholz earlier in the year, with some success.

Mookie's swing reminds me of Andrew McCutchen when he first came up. Lightning quick wrists.

Saw Owens pitch earlier this year, and didn't get around to posting about it. It was an outing where he threw only a few changeups, but it is a serious out pitch. The curveball was looooong and even I could see it out of the hand. Not sure how many sliders he threw (if any) but it seemed to me that he needed one more pitch that he has confidence in to truly be able to put it in cruise control. A solid cutter might even lead him to more success. Just my amateur scouting eye. I really love these threads and comments, makes me asmarter fan.

I was at the game tonight, and the collective "WTF" when Hanley got hit while running was almost comical. At the time I was waiting for Sandoval to invent a new way of getting out just because it seemed like the logical next thing to have happen.
