Williams was bought out and signed with the Bucks... Kemba was pissed That sucks, he would have been a perfect bench guy. What makes you say Kemba was pissed?

Well that got needlessly dicey late lol but I'll take another W. Fantastic game by Romeo. Absolutely huge game by Romeo, so glad we didn't just casually toss him into a trade. Can see him being a top 5 player from that draft.

I haven’t done a fantasy basketball league since college. Do we have enough people in here to do one next year? Can do it Roto style and keep it simple. I would do one for sure! Count me in. Never played roto (typically do head to head categories based) so would be neat to learn.

This trade has no upside because even if Brusdar Graterol turns into an ace, we will have to suffer years of misspellings of his name on the forums. Truly devastating.

It’s hilarious because a guy some people are trying to shit on is about to leapfrog Casas as our #1 prospect lol Too bad Mookie Betts is literally the number 2 player in baseball behind Trout and a generational player in his prime lol

Absolutely awful, embarrassing trade. Sad day to be a Sox fan.

It is okay to simultaneously mourn Kobe's death and acknowledge that he was a rapist. The world is a complex, imperfect place with complex, imperfect people.
It makes sense that rape victims would feel traumatized by a rapist being idolized, even in death, with no mention of nuance or complexity of that individual. Legacies are written by the totality of action. Even if much of Kobe's life was inspirational; that does not absolve awful transgressions.
Even if it feels wrong, the reality is that the conversation needs to be had. Its important to acknowledge as a part of his legacy, even if the timing is inconvenient. I personally acknowledge this, while I am also at the same time in awe of his work ethic and extremely sad for him and his family.

The scheduling was a joke - they had played way less games than everyone else well into the season, and then they go on a stretch where they play 9 times in 13 days. It made zero sense. Yeah, its absolutely ridiculous. I can't imagine playing 9 pickup games in 13 days nevermind at professional length and speed. The toll on the body must be insane.

Our team is somewhat flawed yes, I still think we could use a bench guy as we all have discussed.
However honestly if we add that 6th man type, I think we could go toe to toe with anyone in a 7 game series where the starters can play a ton and actually rest more between games. We have heart for sure.
2nd half of the season will be telling, the schedule is a lot harder. We really need the 2nd or 3rd seed to have a chance of coming out of the East IMO.

We're screwed, lol. Cora gone for at least a year, and probably at least 2 picks.

Yeah we definitely need a bench spark, our bench has been awful and we can't give the starters a break. Also some of y'all are funny straight trashing the team after a small losing streak, boohoo. Its their toughest stretch of the season, these things happen.
There were offensive possessions last night where everyone was standing around and nobody was cutting, everyone just looked straight exhausted.
Targets I like: Bjelica, Bogdan Bogdanovich, Bertans. Basically, guys that can hit 3s.
Semi and Wanamaker have been passable in spurts but really barely or below replacement level.
One thought: package Semi, Poirier, and a pick for something to shore up the bench. Then convert Waters contract for the new roster spot. Waters is the best playmaker they would have off the bench right now. I love IT but I take Waters over him right now, plus Waters at least has good hands on defense. This would add a good playmaker/scorer (Waters) and ideally a big that can shoot, two huge holes right now.
This trade works:
Semi, Poirier, MIL 1st for Bjelica. I would do that instantly if SAC bites since I really believe in this team.

Just a quick shoutout to Brad for calling some good timeouts yesterday to stop Hornets runs before they got out of control, great to see that.
Also, Kanter has been way better than expected. His rebounding really helps us.

You have been down on Romeo? I didn't think their was enough information out there to be down on him other than staying healthy. He was rated like 5 or 6 coming out of high school so their was always the chance that he was a bargain at 14 for the C's based on a soso freshmen season. He looks pretty comfortable out there for a guy who hasn't played much, smooth skills. I think I was just a little prone to recency bias. I weighted his recent injuries too much and put too much stock into the fact that they sent him to the G-league. I also misread him doing a personal eye test (hence why I am not a scout, hah). I basically thought he looked really slow in videos I watched of him. Now that I have seen him in some NBA game action though, his movement actually comes off as extremely smooth and controlled, almost as if the game is a bit slowed down for him - in a good way. Its rare to see in someone who is only 20 and so talented. His release is also extremely fast and positioning is really high-IQ, far beyond his years. I think part of my disappointment was the fact that I liked a few other players at the time (Clarke, NAW, Herro who was picked just before) which was not a knock on him, more a reflection of my own preferences. I can see why he was so highly rated in HS, as you say hope he can stay healthy. Could have a dynasty in the making.

Romeo is proving me so wrong and I am loving it. Looks so smooth out there, and playing hard defense with solid reads.
Grant Williams also rounding into offensive form!

Completely agreed. It would be one thing if Tatum was "the guy" on a team but he's got 3 borderline all stars surrounding him. Given that, his offensive play has been selfish and forced, not selectively aggressive like it should be.
Of course hes still only 21 and crazy talented, so plenty of time to improve, but I think Tatum has been overrated offensively so far.
To be fair, his defense is really good and underrated IMO.

Tatum has been putrid on offense and its affecting the whole team. Acting like he's already an elite offensive player just because they cooked Cleveland's defense.
Brad Stevens continues to be completely incompetent at managing end of game situations. Was outcoached by Brett Brown and has been a below average coach this season.
Can't be said enough how much we miss our captain and floor general, Smart. He's truly this team's glue.

You cannot get out coached anymore than Stevens did tonight. The Pacers made a single adjustment on each end (quick double on Kemba, high screen and roll on offense) and the supposed genius Brad has zero answers. Absolutely a putrid in-game coaching performance. I really don't understand Brad's rotations sometimes, truly dumbfounding. Let's play Tatum and 4 backups to start the 4th! Refs also suck, and we missed Smart/Hayward/Brown at the end. Tough game against a solid team but we need to win those games if we want to end up the 2/3 seed.

This team looks really deep and good. The uptick in rebounding has been amazing and something we've missed the past few years.
Grant Williams is on his way to being a Draymond Green PJ Tucker hybrid who does all the little things amazingly. What a steal.

I know it's preseason but Jayden absolutely looks like he's taken his game to the next level. Gordon looks back, too. This team's gonna be so fun and really good.

Guess who led the team with +14, GW. This is why I say he will get real minutes this year he wins. Pretty amazing how positively hes been impacting games. I think hes a legitimate steal for the Celtics and we'll be able to run some nasty small lineups with him as a Draymond 5, Jaylen at the 4. Super excited for this team!

Pretty funny - saw the score and assumed they got blown out, only to see the insanity of the box score and sadness that this was a winnable game. Cora continues with his baffling management this year, a stark contrast to last season.

We still have a shot - its just not against the A's. We need to be rooting for Tampa to sweep the Indians, and then for us to sweep Tampa. We're not catching Oakland - they're too good, have the easiest schedule, and their team is the healthiest out of TB/CLE. TB and Cleveland have both been bitten by the injury bug and have at least closer difficulty schedules to the Sox, so I feel like we have a shot to overtake them if we keep playing well.
