That was awesome. Gutty, gritty win. Also hell yeah Cashner.

Man when was the last time this offense had a hit in a big situation? Aside from Brock's KC anomaly, it seems like forever.

Good news: Rays lost. A's lost. Bad news: Brian Johnson. Chris Owings. Indians came back from an 8-4 deficit to tie it against the Royals in the 9th. Good news: Our team has some baseball left to win it.
Edit: Cleveland also lost. Let's get this game!

I have a weird feeling the Sox might sneak into the playoffs? If they get Price back and hes solid the rest of the way, they have a legitimate shot with a sweep of the Rays and a continued Indians plummet.
The only thing that makes me hesitate is how mediocre the team has been against good ( > .500 record) teams. We'll see. 24-8 doesn't seem impossible and that would put them at 93 wins if another team falters (would put them in even if the Indians and Rays go about .500 for example).

The bullpen has been amazing today. If we lose its on Cashner and the offense once again leaving the bases loaded. And Cora for batting Owings leadoff and pinch running Mookie into that awful out rather than getting him an at-bat. Cora has been absolutely mediocre at his job this season.

Having Chris Owings, literal definition of a below replacement player, bat leadoff, is a microcosm both of this mediocre season and DD's fringe roster management failures.

I mean I have been behind this team all season but Cora chose a getaway day team and that's the performance he got. Sad to watch.

Good God....this team really isn't playing good baseball. Add: this is really upsetting. I try to stay positive, but EROD is junk. Trade him this offseason. ERod has been a top two SP for us this year and has a 3.2 bWAR. Scared of other options if that's considered junk.

But guys! We could have traded our top 3 prospects so that Edwin Diaz could get some work in this game and give up a few more runs!

JBJ is a big reason we won the ALCS last year, lest we forget.

Dang I have to say as disappointing as the MLB season has been (relative to expectations, at least), the minor league season has been just as exciting in the other direction. Lots of guys breaking out.

Or it shows you that, gasp, the Red Sox didn't think anyone on the market was worth what teams were asking.

Thank god. Overpaying for relievers is and has always been bad for the organization.

Wow, you all are grumpy. The last three days' slaughtering of the Yankees really wasn't enough to carry you through a single loss? I was going to say something similar. All about perspective. If you can win every series, you are the champs. You don't have to win every game.

do we have the 2018 comeback magic in store for us tonight ?? Yes. I believe. Would love for Raffy to get another shot at Chapman for a walkoff in the 9th.
