And then what do they do? WMB is starting rehab tonight. Do WMB and Xander share time at 3B while Drew faces LHP? If they weren't willing to move Xander back and forth (which was my entire argument against signing Drew going back to last November), then signing Drew was pretty stupid. Farrell has made three or four statements to the effect that when Middlebrooks is healthy, they're going with Middlebrooks/Bogaerts versus LHP and Bogaerts/Drew versus RHP. However, until then, they want to keep Bogaerts at 3B to speed up his adjustment to the position. I think it's fair to question whether that latter approach makes much sense now that Drew is hurt and they don't want their next best option (Holt) playing SS. But your continued insistence that Drew is going to consistently face left-handed pitching when everyone is healthy is contradicted by every public statement that every member of the organization has made since Drew signed. But I guess once you've made up your mind that this organization is run by idiots, it's pretty easy to just stick your head in the sand and ignore all the reports that run counter to your opinion. Farrell has said conflicting things.

When there is an opening for manager, you guys should apply, but keep the day time gig. I'm holding out for GM. I want to be owner, and then fire John Henry and sink his yacht.

For a wet game this ump is calling a pretty fair zone so far.

Farrell has said conflicting things. I'd like to see a link where he implied that Drew would play versus lefties when Middlebrooks returns. Because he's suggested that they'll go to a three-man platoon rotation multiple times ( May 20th, June 2nd), as has Ben Cherington ( May 21st), and I don't remember reading anything to the contrary.

From the June 2nd link posted above: At most, you can say that you'll believe it when you see it, which is a legitimate (if slightly petty) response. But they've been unwavering in their insistence that Xander Bogaerts will get some playing time at shortstop this season.

Mastrrson having issues finding the plate. Watch Pierzynski come up and swing at the first pitch.

Fair enough. I'm still burned on how long it took for Nava to get playing time over Gomes.
I am SOOOO glad that Nava is proving him 100% wrong of late. Go Nava!

I guess Butterfield has special instructions from Farrell to get as many outs as possible.

Did Papi run through a sign or did he get waved in on a ball to shallow CF?

I love Nap's ability to drive the ball to the opposite field. He's one of those guys who, if he gets hot, can carry the lineup for weeks at a time.

OK Xander is comfortable at 3B now. You can play him at SS again, Farrell.
