Beefing with the mgr does for Miley what getting a stupid-looking hairdo does for Clay.

That play needs to be made. It's not routine, but Sandoval needs to make it.

In Mookie's case: Regression feels good when you've been waiting for it for a long time.

Mookie's heating up.
Speaking of that, despite his struggles with the pitch away, he already has a 1.9 bWAR and a 1.4 fWAR coming into today. On pace to post a 4.75 bWAR and a 3.5 fWAR on the year.

How in gods name do you walk the leadoff batter? Actually, this has happened 1,115 times this season in 17,119 plate appearances, for a 6.5% walk rate for the leadoff hitter. Compare to 4336 walks in 54,846 plate appearances for every other hitter, which is a 7.9% rate, and there is indeed a smaller chance that the leadoff batter will walk in a given inning than non-leadoff hitters.

That play needs to be made. It's not routine, but Sandoval needs to make it. Agreed. If his girth doesn't allow him to get to a routine chopper in time to throw out a speedy runner, then he needs to play in closer. That ball couldn't have been more routine.

When it rains (BABIP), it pours (BABIP).

Not the most impressive triple you'll ever see, but it gets the job done.

Every Sox starter with a hit now, if I'm not mistaken.

Let's try this again
Mookie a HR shy of the cycle...
ADD: If Mookie went deep there, my guess is that it would have been the first time in history that 2 players achieved the cycle in back to back AB's.

I still can't tell if Holt is legit, but with the cycle, a 141 wRC+, and the highest OPS on our team, it's looking like he very well may be.

Yeah, we'd win a lot more if we had guy hitting for the cycle everyday.

Well this was a refreshing change of pace. Pitching AND hitting?! Don't spoil me now, Red Sox.
