Did the Mavs pick end up at #17? Tied w/Memphis.

What about Bender or Dunn? Yay on Bender, he looks like a ridiculously athletic Euro. I know the Darko nightmare lingers, but athletic Euros hardly bust these days. Nay on Dunn. Too many guards to take another who doesn't look all that hot IMO.

Maker ruled eligible per Chad Ford.

I'm torn on what Danny thinks about Bender. On the one hand, he loved Saric and Porzingis in their respective drafts and Bender SEEMS to be every bit the prospect those guys were (even better?)
But out of all the guys that shoukd be in the top 6, he might be the furthest away from contributing (I may be making an assumption here, I admit).
If we are to assume that THIS is the offseason where Danny tries to cash in and take the next step, how would Bender fit in?
Of course, if he's the best guy at your pick, I think you take him and figure it out later. You could always stash him and build your roster without him (especially if you can woo Durant and another)
PS That will be the last time I reference the idea of Durant until free agency starts and there are reports (not speculation) of his interest in coming to Boston. I'm not getting sucked in.

We don't get enough of these high picks to roll the dice on Bender IMO.

I'd also just add that seems like a "roll of the dice" because we don't get to watch any of his games. I'd like to think that, if he's in consideration for that pick, Boston would have a pretty good sense of his potential (improving the odds on said "roll")

Let's just hope for top 2 pick. If Bender is best player on board you take him, we really need high end talent.

If it's the top overall pick, who are you guys taking? I'm still on the Ben Simmons hype train.

The C's played Game 1 hard... in the second half. If they can carry that into the rest of the series, they will win games, especially at home.
On the other hand, if we lose Avery long term, we may be cooked. #0 is the best shooter on the team, and even though Marcus is one of my top three favorite players, he is questionable in that specific regard

Lose Game 1 in a squeaker, team is already banged up, and we lose Avery for the series...things are not looking great. I still think this team has it in them to beat Atlanta, but its going to take a lot out of the tank.

Atlanta was a bad matchup and it's showing. I'm not ready to call this series over but it probably is. Lack of shooting really shows.
I take Ingram first unless I'm sure Simmons can shoot.

Yeah, it's an unfortunate ending to a fun season. They had exactly the wrong guys get hurt. Olynyk, Bradley, and Jae are the only guys that can create the spacing that allows IT to be effective going to the hoop. Having those guys out took this series from a coin flip to a runaway.
It makes sense that Stevens is considering starting Jerebko tonight. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Hunter get more minutes as long as his defensive lapses don't make that impossible.

Hunter's just not ready. He didn't shoot well this year, his defense is bad, and his handle and passing has looked suspect at times. Jerebko at the 4 is their best option to space the floor-- he comes with his own defensive/versatility issues, but I just trust him more.

The real MVP is McDonough who traded us IT for a bag of balls. The fun part is that I really liked what he was doing in Phoenix up until he started sucking at his job and luckily chose the C's to benefit the most.

Same here. Although it should be a reminder to all players to use your elbow instead, because you can do stuff like this and not even get called for a foul: Yes the NBA makes total sense.

I don't know whether Hunter has the quickness to ever be ready for the NBA. He was last year's Buddy Heild in terms of a shooting rep....Didn't happen. His lack of shooting success caused him to be less aggressive in taking shots ala Kelly. Rozier looks like he could develop based upon his high athleticism. We need a couple of high % shooters with range and at least one rim protector. I'm betting that Mickey gets a much greater chance next year...unless traded. I suspect if we don't get a top 2 pick, Danny tries to package his stable to move up. Free agency is where we take a more immediate step...but it is clear that we can't yet play with the big boys despite all our fight and Brad's influence.

Move up? Sorry if I'm misunderstanding you but nobody is trading down from 1 or 2 to get 3-5 plus other picks.
If Danny doesn't get 1 or 2, I'm wondering if that "blockbuster" trade that fell apart is revisited (yes, I'm obsessed with all the reports connected to that and what it might have been and what it might mean going forward)

Some good tactical adjustments by Stevens in games three and four, including starting and playing Jerebko more (the Hawks don't rebound well, so all they're really losing is post defense) and moving Thomas off the ball more (where he stretches the floor and can come flying off picks as the secondary action of a set).
