Good win today and badly needed.
Kimbrel makes it scary, but glad we hung on.

Better watch EPL than Red sox game under JF management for your health care.

Enough with the stupid "fire JF" stuff. If it was going to happen, it would have happened at the end of July. He's here for the rest of the season, whatever happens. If the Sox fail in September, he's gone. If he wins the WS, he's the manager next year. That's about it. So, cool it with the hand wringing.

I don't expect him to be fired either, but I can't help complaining about horrible decisions that often cost the team runs and sometimes wins.

Leon not hitting for a journeyman catcher with 0 outs and 2 runners in scoring position took the cake. No excuse for that. None

Gotta give an attaboy to Kimbrel for nutting up after a leadoff double in a one run game. Looked shaky at doing it, but still did it.

But, yeah, I'd have to agree that that was a monumental head-scratcher, particularly given how insanely hot Leon has been, and that he's arguably a better defensive option as well. It's another Farrell oddity I've noticed...he gives guys "days off," but they're often written in stone. A key situation like that requires adaptation. He can always rest the guy the next day if it goes deep into extra innings. But (especially this late in the season and fighting for the playoffs) the focus really should be on winning today's game, and making adjustments tomorrow if need be.

Trust your guys man at least once, now since you saw he didn't correspond you think about PH him the next time.

It's a lot easier to lose ballgames on one of other 300 or so pitches that miss the target...get flubbed on fielding...have an umpire miss a call...are a double instead of a homerun...etc..etc..., than it is to lose by a managerial decision...where we don't even know if the outcome would be any different. This situation is a fair criticism.....but it is the normal reflexive action with the JF haters. For the record...I think he should be gone...mostly because I think the team has underperformed...and that to me, is the way he should be graded. And I say that whether the team wins or doesn't win the World Series.

You have the right to your opinion, but I don't think it warrants being repeated 20 times in different threads. It's probably not in the top 5 dumbest things he did in that game.
