Brady, Gronk, Lewis, Solder, Vollmer, and Cooper are all out verse Arizona. Good luck Jimmy.

This NE front seven looks like it could be a game changer. I mean we knew this going in. But Bill's got a real arsenal of weapons to play with.

Thanks for trying to return those kickoffs, Arizona, we appreciate it.

Wow. That's two questionable holding penalties in a row. One which negated a pass interference that would have given the Patriots possession at the two yard line.

Garoppolo looked good. Defense was solid. Marcus Cannon still sucks.

Won one we were "supposed to lose" - next three should be easier. 4-0 heading into Brady time? Nice debut for Jimmy!

It's hard to know for sure based on the TV film, but I bet the secondary generally did a solid job taking away the deep stuff. Aside from Johnson being his bad*** self a couple times, the run defense was very good as well (despite playing light in the box fairly often).

Very impressed by Garoppolo's pocket presence and decision making under pressure. He can't quite pick apart zone defenses the way Brady can but he is definitely good enough to win against the next 3 opponents we have scheduled. Bennett had a great game as a run blocker with a couple of clutch catches mixed in and I really look forward to defenses trying to match up when he and Gronk are both on the field together. And our cornerback group might be quite sneaky-good, there were a couple of nice coverage sacks and Logan Ryan and Justin Coleman weren't allowing much of anything.
Oh, and that Blount touchdown, wow. His legs just kept churning and he basically moved half the Cardinal's D all on his own. Very impressive.

I'm really torn on how I feel about Blount, and last night epitomizes it. He's obviously terrifying at full speed, and yet he lacks the requisite burst to consistently reach top gear. He also seldom lines up in the shotgun, meaning teams pretty much know that when he is in the game, the Patriots are planning on giving him the ball or maybe using him as a decoy for play action. So it's hard to tell when he's not hitting holes quick enough and when there are simply no holes to hit because of the personnel.
He doesn't have the shiftiness to get open on pass routes, yet doesn't have the burst to make something out of collapsing running lanes. So what Blount gives you is a runner who is best suited for a spread, wide open offense yet does nothing to create the space needed to excel.

Blount is one of those guys that does enough and makes enough big plays (the TD run and that 3rd and long conversion in 4th quarter) to keep Yourself thinking he's a legit lead back but he's not. He's quality and I'd like him a lot more if we had Lewis so hopefully that scenario plays itself out in the second half because having Blount to wear teams down and run over them while tired can be a weapon.

The defense was good overall. Some areas to improve on but they will. I didn't see much from Malcolm Brown but often at his position that's a good thing. Best surprise was how good Chris long was and Vincent Valentine and Anthony Johnson showed some real ability.

I'm looking forward to Garrapolos next 3 games. If he plays like he did last weekend the Patriots will have a real decision to make this offseason. Do you reap the rewards and trade him for at least 1 and possibly more first round picks or do you make the decision that he's going to be Brady's replacement in 2 years? One game doesn't warrant a lot of discussion on this but it's hopefully going to be an interesting topic.

I would say 90% chance he is gone, only Brady showing his age(very unlikely) or Brady getting hurt would stop them from trading him. If Bradford is worth a 1st round pick, Jimmy has to be worth 2 1st round picks. I think its huge that any team trading for him can pay him peanuts for one year, before having to give him a huge deal. It lowers the risk. I just can't see Bill not taking two first round picks to increase the talent around Brady for the tail end of his career.

I'm heading to Cleveland for game 5 and Brady's return. My brother, cousin and his brother in law will form our wolf pack. I'll get there Friday evening. Take in the Rock and Roll HOF Saturday, Patriots Sunday and return Monday. Any recommendations for restaurants, breweries etc in Cleveland?

I typically agree with everything you state, and not that I disagree with you but I don't necc. agree with you on this. It may be more up in the air then you think. They drafted him higher than anyone other QB during Brady's reign. If he plays well AND Brady shows signs of aging then it will be very interesting to see what happens. I don't have strong feel for it either way.

There's in old saying about Cleveland. If your plane is going to go down on a Cleveland trip, you hope it's the inbound one.

Nice start. Great 3rd down catch by Edelman, great run by Bennett to get in the red zone, and very nice TD pass from Garropolo to Amendola.

Jimmy Garoppolo IS Tony Romo 2.0...quick feet, gifted arm talent, takes hits like they're coming from 1-AA defenders.

Still loving the Bennett acquisition, still can't wait to see him and Gronk on the field together.
