Signed OL Tyronne Green and OL R.J. Mattes. In addition to Deaderick, Pats signed WR Lavelle Hawkins and released WR Andre Holmes (who was claimed by the Raiders).

Reportedly, Kyle Love is also being released. Apparently, he has type-2 diabetes and lost some weight recently. Not the whole story, I'm sure.

Per Field Yates on Twitter , the Patriots signed UDFA WR Mark Harrison from Rutgers. He had a deal after the draft with the Bears nixed due to a failed physical (foot injury). Hard not to like a flier on a 6'3" WR with 4.46 wheels, even if he is a bit stiff and isn't as athletic as his measurables would lead you to believe. The Pats also signed UDFA Notre Dame K David Ruffer but he looks to be just a camp leg.

Other big news is that Spikes is not at OTA's. While voluntary, these usually are met with 100% attendance (some exceptions along the way, like Vrabel). Very curious what his future is with Mayo, Hightower (who was originally and inside guy) and, now, Collins.

One thing he won't have is his own podium and will probably be restricted on media access.

This thing with Hernandez is blowing up. I think the kid got killed maybe drug deal gone bad or he screwed Hernandez over and things got heated with the murder.

No matter how you slice it, it doesn't look good for Hernandez right now. A couple potential targets as a replacement move-TE: Dallas Clark and Tony Scheffler (Lions can save $2.45m by cutting him and it sounds like he's currently 3rd on the depth chart).

Stupid bastard got taken in and now cut. I hope he feelin good about hanging with his boys. You get a life changing contract. Give your boys a few grand and tell them to screw. Instead your life is over you have to piss away a lot of money on lawyers. Plus he has the lawsuit also. Good luck with that.

Wow! Murder charge.
Supposedly they have a recording of him saying "you can't trust anyone" before picking up Odin. Then security footage (destroying the system isn't really destroying it) of him walking in to his home with a gun in his hand.

Or, you know, you could keep your security systems and just not commit any felonies. Yeah, but who wants the possibility of being watched in your own home regardless of whether you did anything wrong? I bet people will be surprised that this 24/7 footage is archived probably forever and never thought about it for a second when they got their security system put in.

Here's what I want to know. I've heard the Patriots have a claim to get their signing bonus back. But isn't the victims family going to go after that money in civil suit as well?
Who gets the money? and do the pats still take an 8 million cap hit for the next two years?
