I can't be the only one that would feel better with both Houck and Whitlock as starters over Edrod? Yeah fulltime next year. right now we're waiting for Sale to return.

Now look, I'm not going to say that Rodriguez pitched well in that inning. But he had a FIP of 2.16, an xFIP of 2.16, and an ERA of 27.00.
Just sayin.

I love ERod, and the eye test certainly says he’s better than his numbers, but… there comes a point when you have the same disparity between FIP and box score so many times that that defense starts to ring hollow. A few games, fine. But a season? Then I am more skeptical of the theoretical stats that real-world outcomes.

At some point, the sample size gets big enough that there must be a REASON whey his "standard stats" are so out of line with the "advanced stats". I think we've gotta be there. For now, I'm treating EdRod FIP/xFIP discussions with the same level of bemused disdain that I do dWAR or ERA for relievers.

Ever since Voros McCracken first wrote the DIPS article, fanbases have convinced themselves that every single under/over achiever is an exception and then as if by magic the next season the ERA is usually right where the peripherals says it should be

Those were just lucky hits and runs they do not count.

I would offer Edrod a 4/60 contract max right now and if he says no, use the QO on him and get a pick and move on Until it doesn't happen I'll keep saying it wouldn't surprise me for erod to take the QO. 19 mil for a year to bet on yourself sounds a lot better than a 4 year 60 mil deal. He's talented enough to put up a year like he did in 2019.

Yeah fulltime next year. right now we're waiting for Sale to return. I would offer Edrod a 4/60 contract max right now and if he says no, use the QO on him and get a pick and move on 4 year is crazy. He is looking at a Richards contract to rebuild his values.

I just don’t feel he’s earned that or deserves it. 2yrs with a team option, or 3yrs, tops, or maybe 3 yrs for $36 with an opt out after 1.

I tried with EROD, I really did but I good with him being a free agent. It’s perfect timing.

Getting on base is nice, but Dalbec has a .039 isolated power in 52 July PAs. A Dalbec that doesn’t hit for power is one of the worst players in baseball.
