It would have happened if they gave Darwinzon an extra few batters lol He was one of those players in this season who stood out for how bad he truly was. Hernandez was brutal to watch pitch. I'm sure there are others but I probably blanked them out of my mind. The fall of Darwinzon Hernandez has been kind of hard to watch. Power left handed prospect who rose quickly. Tons of strikeouts and promise at a young age. He was on the major league roster by the age of 21? 22? He's now a guy you wouldn't even trust tosing homerun durby balls to homerun hitters. (Probably would peg one of them in the head trying to throw it down the middle). Maybe they keep him on the 40 man roster for one more season, but the leash is probably short. I doubt there's any trust in his ability to find the strike zone anymore. He's been a trainwreck in trying to correct his command issues. He keeps going backwards, this year durability has been a bigger issue on top of it all.

Next year can’t be worse and at least we’ll see some spending this off-season. I do wonder if Chaim is going to spend significant money on free agent pitching, especially the bullpen I listened to his interview with Rob Bradford and it sounded like (if I understood correctly) he was talking about allocating money for the bullpen to get more certainty.I anticipate a lot of money being spent spread around to fill a lot of holes. I don't anticipate a marquis free agent addition. I'm guessing a corner OF, perhaps a DH, a starting pitcher (one will be a $15 - $20 million/year pitcher) or two, at least a couple of relievers, probably 3 or 4 of varying dollar amounts, but no big-time closer type. I had the opposite takeaway. He seemed to be saying that with bullpen arms there is less correlation between salary and performance. In other words, it is a less efficient investment to spend big money on the bullpen.
I think people who would like to see them add a big dollar reliever are going to be disappointed.
