Dick Mountain rides again Sadly, a 44 year old pulled directly off the scrap heap probably wont be the worst pitcher on the staff.

During next year’s preseason predictions season, I’m just going to keep in mind what I would have thought in Feb 2024 about the Sox being 7 games over .500 in August with Chase Shugart pitching med lev innings and three catchers playing defense.

Two homers allowed, including yet another missed strike three call followed by a two-run homer. Masa is going to be leading the team in hitting soon. Devers still looks off at the plate. 1-5 w/ RISP.

Gasper keeping the 1.000 OPS ball rolling. They can't get him out.

It's a minor league deal, not a bad flyer to take to see where he's at and see if you can get innings out of him in September.

Should have sold at the deadline. They clearly didn't do enough to buy.

From roughly 2018-2021, being a Red Sox fan that lived near Baltimore was amazing. These days, it’s awful. 1-6 this year, and I know that tomorrow I’ll get to watch Corbin Burnes shut us down in person.
And the tickets are more expensive than ever. Frustrating

This is shaping up to be a loooooooooong weekend. Corbin Burnes tomorrow I guess the good news is Breslow will get an up close and personal look at him. Some article making early predictions on FA signings next winter predicted him as a Red Sox signee.

Sounds about right… I was hoping they could go 3-4 in the this stretch, but winning 3 of the next 6 doesn’t seem super likely. Where’s the .500 magnet when you need it?

The margin of error for the playoffs is slimming. Royals are playing at a 88-89 win pace, so it's likely going to take 90 wins to get to the playoffs. If we were to win every single series or atleast tie, we would be at exactly 90 wins. So, if we lose any series, basically if we get swept by anybody else or lose more than like three series the rest of the way our chances will severely diminish.
I'm not out just yet, but there's definitely cause for concern.

Honestly hoping that we can just keep it tight as long as possible (2.5 game after tonight) and at least be in position to take advantage if they fuck up. But need to avoid a complete massacre here
