Between the Gomez tweet about the Sox upping their offer and now the Heyman story, it's starting to feel like the Sox are being used to get the Yankees to up their offer.

Between the Gomez tweet about the Sox their historic AL East nemesis upping their offer and now the Heyman story, it's starting to feel like the Sox are being used to get the Yankees to up their offer. Let's get to the point.

I still don’t see the MFY going over $600 million or being able to even carry that sort of salary unless they want to be paying the CBT for the rest of eternity.

Between the Gomez tweet about the Sox upping their offer and now the Heyman story, it's starting to feel like the Sox are being used to get the Yankees to up their offer. Well, it's totally consistent with all of the following theories:
- The Sox are being used to get the Yankees or Mets to up their offer. - The Sox are legitimately making a strong bid to get Soto. - The journalists are bored and the wheel has spun around to the Red Sox as the current team to hype.
In other words it doesn't mean anything at all.

I’d say there is a chance he signs somewhere tomorrow before Thanksgiving hits
If not then before December 8th as was a reported soft deadline

My final number for Soto would probably be-
13 years at 624 million. The 48 million AAV would break Ohtani's record.
Wouldn't want opt outs in the deal. Willing to bump it up to 637 million with no opt outs.
Edit- No deferrals.

I don't see how the Dodgers made a offer to Soto past 4 years. Not with this Snell contract. They still have the short stop and LF holes to fill also.
They have Ohtani at DH and Soto will be a DH past 30 unless he's playing LF Fenway Park half the time.
It's got to be a war between the Sox and Mets at this point.
