Have there been sketch/fake reports for other teams as well? Feels like they’ve all been for the Sox but that also could just be the echo chamber

Wish he'd not share his Soto fantasies because that would just aggravate me all the more if Soto winds up on the Mets or even the Yankees. Dont want my emotional chains to get yanked building up hopes that Soto somehow winds up a Red Sox.

Feels like they’ve all been for the Sox but that also could just be the echo chamber Pretty much radio silence for the Yankee/Mets other than what's in the Heyman and Klapisch articles. Nothing like the Red Sox where Boras and team officials are telling everyone behind the scenes to get excited and David Ortiz is giving a bunch of interviews talking about how he's going to bring Juan Soto to Fenway

The Sox should up the offer by promising to never wear the hideous banana uniforms again.

Oh man don't give me any more hope that they actually may get Soto. I better cushion myself for the let down and be pleasantly surprised if they do.

Yea 12 years at near 50M AAV isn't likely to get it done I'm afraid but it is probably competitive. If they really do want him they're going to have to up that offer I think.

If there are some player friendly opt-outs though? That or we have been shooting wayyyy too high on what teams are willing to shell out. I mean, the speculated price tag has gone from “over half a billion dollars” to “starts with a 6” to $700 million now to upwards of $800 million over the course of a few weeks. Odds are there was always a rough number this would end at and fans (and reporters who don’t know anything) idly speculating hasn’t changed it.

I mean as we’ve all have discussed here, Cohen offering $60 million more doesn’t really present much of a difference when considering NY taxes and the like. Something that’s also coming to my mind is that I feel Soto wouldn’t be able to get as many sponsor opportunities in a crowded NY market. Outside of Tatum, he would be presented every sponsorship opportunity in New England.

If they really do want him they're going to have to up that offer I think. Why do you think that? This would come in higher than all the easily accessible projections I've seen:
MLBTR: 13/600 FG crowd: 13/585 Ben Clemens: 12/576
For comparison, last years top FA got 10/460 after receiving these projections:
MLBTR: 12/528 FG crowd: 10/450 Clemens: 13/527

We all love the sox on this site and are die hards but yea Soto would immediately bring relevance back to them nation wide and would bring lots of sponsorship possibilities that's for sure.
