I dunno, 0 for 7 is perfect in a sense.

Fitting that we lay Trey Ball's career to rest almost three years to the day he was drafted.

2 legit Starters and at least 3, probably 4 Relief Pitchers are needed to be true contenders for a World Series Title. The Royals won the World Series 8 months ago without one legit starter.

Does he need to hit again if we tie the game? I guess, but what are the odds that they tie and not win and get to his lineup spot again? A lot better than the odds that having a slow footed runner on second in the bottom of the 9th when you're down by three runs will hurt you (roughly 0%)

Why pinch run? You're down by 3. Am I missing something? Papi doesn't need to run more than he has to. Does he need to hit again if we tie the game?

I'd just like to take this opportunity to once again congratulate Senquez Golson on choosing his true calling of football . Was it Callis? that debunked that story and said they would have signed Mookie regardless? Something like that Yeah, funny how that comes out after he turns into a total stud. Just like how every team in baseball now says they almost drafted Mike Trout.

Mookie or Xander is going to be a hell of a debate for the next few years

Did I just hear O'Brien right? Mookie had to ask if it was "bad etiquette" to swing 3-0 in the 8th inning with a FOUR run lead? That's terrifying.

Not even close, IMO. He's going to get well over 200 million in free agency. And Dombrowski will give it to him if he wants to stay on my good side.

Is there any chance the Cardinals would make Rosenthal available if they fall out of it by the deadline? Obviously they plan to contend every year, and he's got two years of control left past this season, so probably not, but a man can dream.

It's an indefensible move to wear a Yankees WS ring when you are being celebrated at Fenway Park. Imagine caring about something like this.

Nothing against JBJ, I did not wish for the streak to end. But streaks like this can get distracting, they can add pressure, they can get in the way of optimal performance. Now he can just play without the circus-within-a-circus atmosphere that a streak engenders. Yeah it really hurt him, he only hit like what, .400 during the streak? I can pretty much guarantee you his OPS will be lower a month from now than it is right now.

I like the idea that we couldn't give out extensions if we have Mike Trout (with a team-friendly contract btw) on the books. Since when did we become the Kansas City Royals? The reason why the Red Sox can spend what seems like an unlimited amount of money is precisely because they have so much home grown talent on cheap contracts. If they traded for Trout, it would take all four of the top four plus at least one current cheap player like JBJ if not Betts or Bogaerts. The price would likely be so insane that it could never work out. And then they'd be in the position of filling positions through free agency which doesn't seem to work out too well. That has nothing to do with what I said or what I was responding to. I don't disagree with you at all.

Sam Kennedy said a few days ago that spending money to improve the team is not off the table. The only way that I can interpret that is a trade for a high dollar player. Our weakest position is left field. A high dollar big time solution would be a trade for Trout (outfield alignment can pretty much be done any which way). Benintendi, Devers, Swihart and Castillo is unlikely to be topped but it's not my wallet. Imagine the current lineup minus Swihart plus Trout. That package is not getting you anywhere close to Mike Trout. Did you add Castillo as a joke? I mean, you're almost erasing all of the value represented by the first three players by including him and his contract which is basically dead money at this point. The guy can't hit in AAA. Replace Castillo with Mookie or Xander or maybe JBJ and you're getting somewhere. Not saying I would do it, or even that it's totally fair, but even if the Angels decided to trade him, you're not getting a 24 year old inner circle HOFer without overpaying.

He's 21 repeating High A level with 12/19 BB/K in 29 IP. I'm not impressed. Seriously. Here's an experiment: Forget that he was drafted 7th overall for a moment and tell me what you would ttypically think of a prospect with Trey Ball's stuff/track record.

To be fair, I can remember a half-dozen bad defensive plays already this year, and not too many great ones. That probably won't continue, but he's definitely been worse defensively this year than in years past. For context, I put a like on that comment because it's the first one I've seen you make that actually involves watching baseball. Considering how awful most of your posts are, maybe you should give watching less baseball a try?

Wondering how Jackie's offense for defense trade impacts him this year and going forward. If the offense is sustainable I'm not mad but he should play right. Are you serious? Because he's made a few sloppy errors?
