The Red Sox should be thinking; Starting Pitcher, Starting Pitcher, Starting Pitcher, Starting Pitcher, Starting Pitcher

If there was a write in spot I would have voted for Hunter Haworth

Going through each position poll has made me realize just how truly weak the system is. I hope it proves me wrong. I like Casas & Downs & I’m really rooting for Dalbec. I still don’t see much Pitching. Have you read the pieces in this series? There are surely positions of weakness (middle infield, catcher, high minors pitching), but the corner infield and low minors pitching surprised me with how strong they were. Yes I believe you’re looking at the pitching with those famous “rose colored glasses”. I really hope i’m wrong. (I do like Shugart more then most, I think he is a future MLB Bullpen piece)

Man, I miss Baseball & a Red Sox game to watch every night. I miss Sports period. I can’t believe I’m actually looking forward to the NFL draft broadcast, the ratings will probably be through the roof.
Stay safe

I went to the training fields on Tuesday as I do annually. As usual the exercises were well executed and the whole program is organized. Saw Tristan in the batting cage. He has an unusual stance which was open and his hands low against his body. He was making contact though. Saw the game against the Tigers yesterday. Jeter looked good at ss and pitched in with a couple of hits. Arauz, the Rule 5 guy, got the start at 2B and looked good on the pivot for DP. De La Guerra hit a rocket to RF for his homer. Pitching was horrible but Aybar impressed with his velocity. Big lefty. Did a double take when I saw what I bolded and my initial thought was "since when?". lol Our Jeter will be a 2b fortunately so that it doesn't mess up my mind, well except for demainah who already has Jeter penciled into CF - probably on Opening Day this year. lol You really should go back & re read what I have posted. And just stop making stuff up. Ridiculous

He doesn’t & I didn’t say he did. Are you just making stuff up? And if anything, I think most of his moves so far shows he is incompetent (but that’s for a different thread) You literally just said Bloom could have planned for it, which is, by definition, having something to do with it. Also, almost all of his moves have been at worst not super impactful, very few of them have been bad. If you're unenthused by some of the moves or upset that he hasn't blown money on a higher profile player then I'd disagree with you but let you be entitled to your opinion. But to somehow try to spin it as he's incompetent? That's just completely senseless. I don't know if him and JBJ picked on you in school or something but you gotta take a step back from whatever vendetta you have against them and try using some reasoning or at the very least basic common sense when you attempt to analyze this stuff. Ridiculous

If only there were some signs pointing to a possible injury, maybe Bloom & the Red Sox could have planned for it How does Bloom have anything to do with his injury? And if anything, don’t his moves show that they were expecting to be uncompetitive? He doesn’t & I didn’t say he did. Are you just making stuff up? And if anything, I think most of his moves so far shows he is incompetent (but that’s for a different thread)

I'd love to see the Sox pivot and sign Puig. I doubt it happens though. I remain confused by the Puig thing: where does he play? Their OF is full, DH is definitely full, Puig is not going to platoon, and Moreland is not likely going to be signed not to play. I am guessing at least to start the year, the lineup is pretty set but for some internal battles (2B, can Dalbec play some at 1B etc). Verdugo plays CF, Puig plays RF, JBJ is the 4th OF

Remember, 5 man bench this year folks. Not if they carry the max of 13 pitchers, right? I think most teams will carry the max

Meanwhile, a day and a half has passed and the deal is still just a rumor. I think Pillar's agent leaked it to try to get an MLB deal and/or more bucks out of the Sox. Hopefully Bloom is realizing the obvious and is having second thoughts (again)

Verdugo Devers Bogaerts Martinez Benintendi Chavis Moreland Vazquez JBJ
Bench;
Plaweckii - C Peraza SS, 2B, OF Lin SS, 2B, OF Pillar - OF
Adding Pillar really hurts the construction of the line up. Instead, Puig should be added on a 1 year deal with a team option.
And the line up should be;
Verdugo Devers Bogaerts Martinez Benintendi Puig Moreland Vazquez Peraza
Bench;
Plawecki - C Lin - SS, 2B, OF Chavis - 1B, 2B, 3B JBJ - OF
And in 2021 after Martinez opts out & Betts is signed;
Betts Verdugo Bogaerts Devers Puig Benintendi Dalbec Vazquez Downs
And in 2022;
Betts Verdugo Bogaerts Devers Casas Benintendi Dalbec Vazquez Downs

Regardless of where he hits in the lineup it was a very good signing by Bloom. Disagree, a very good signing would of been Puig, making JBJ the 4th Outfielder.
