Fantastic team W against the Nuggets after the embarrassing end to the Utah match. Brad was pissed -- I'm glad the team got the message. I didn't get to watch but hopefully there'll be highlights up soon. While we wait: Jordan Mickey vs. the Jazz!
Sully with 16/11/5 in 23 minutes tonight. This guy gets a LOT of stick for his weight but the stuff he can do in 22-28 mpg is fantastic, his rebounding his invaluable/genuinely astonishing for a short fat no-hops big man. But for all I love him, I just can't talk myself into a big contract for the guy... is his commitment to weight loss and conditioning for real, or will he let the dollar signs get in the way of calorie counts?

I remember hating John Lackey during his first couple Red Sox years. Like, one of my least favorite players in baseball. The injury and all the good that came after took it away... we were all there, there's not much to say but thank you for your service.
Basically, I hope Pablo Sandoval becomes our Red Panda- beloved or at least servicable until the Chosen Yoan arrives- and he still has time to do it. But, man, am I discouraged today.

I know we aren't nearly active enough for game threads, but -- I believe that we will win!

I'm going with Paul George (at least, partly, bc I want it to be Paul George). That would be such a dream!!! Come on Larry, you know you love green... A salve for anyone upset we didn't make a deal this year:

Now I'm going to lose my mind trying to figure out who he's referring to, but Ainge indicated that they were close on a blockbuster deal (including the BRK pick) for a star and one that was not included in any of the rumors. It also seems that it might be something that could be revisited. My pet theory is Jimmy Butler. Danny indicated the deal was for a player around whom we haven't heard rumors swirl; Chicago has publicly seemed a little cool on how JBuckets is handling stardom. I'd be pretty happy with a Butler upgrade this summer, maybe in a deal focused around Avery. Not interested in moving the Brooklyn pick for him, though. I have to disagree re: the lack of depth in this class. I think we're going to be seeing some meteoric rises in stock through March Madness. Buddy Hield is a guy I like a lot who would probably be available near the end of the lottery--my ideal draft would include a #1 or #2 for Simmons or Ingram, and a trade into the bottom of the lottery for Buddy.

Our C's are back in two days! BUT -- the big ol' trade deadline looms tomorrow at 3pm. It looks like today is going to be a bunch of posturing, and stuff will come down to the wire tomorrow... I honestly hope the Celtics hold off making a move. I know Danny is tempted to overpay, but this group could keep the 3 seed and do real damage to a Cavsless side of a playoff bracket.
Re: the Rondo talk- boy am I glad we have IT and Smart. Love those guys.

Yeah, looking through the BA Handbook over the weekend, it was silly to me that Seager, Buxton, and Matz all still qualified. I'd almost prefer that inclusion be a judgement call. Oh, man I have to order the handbook, and the BP Annual, and a few years of Sickels' books. Thanks for the reminder ... and, speaking of being distracted away from baseball, I should warn folks that I plan to be a lot less active on this board this year than in the past; if that fails to materialize, people should tell me to shut up and get back to writing my (non-baseball) book*. I do plan to post my Buchholz analysis within the next few weeks, though. *In fact, my current intention is to watch only the road and home openers, and national TV and Yankee games. A big reduction from the years when I scored every pitch of every game, alas. Non-baseball book? The world has plenty of those. You're one-of-a-kind on this board Eric, a huge influence on my many years of lurking. Best of luck to you! On the topic of The Kid, I slide firmly into the 2017 RoY camp. This kid has it all - barring the unspeakable.

An insane OT win over the Clippers brings us into the all star break!
Isaiah 36/11 Sully 21/11r/7a Smart 17/4/4 with a steal and a block. Marcus had a great game and looked very confident in his 3 - I'm looking forward to more games like this in the future.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are now 32- 1 when scoring 100+ points at home. Go team.

The squad has been fantastic lately! Hope they carry all this great momentum into and past the All-Star Break. 19-7 (or is it 20-7?) when Kelly O plays 17 minutes or more!

I'm gonna miss Joe C when he is phased out... A la Orsillo's replacing Enberg. Just called "We go to the bottom of the fifth, 5-5." I've been noticing a lot of those little slips this season.
I hope he has the job for the next twenty years.

Today, redemption is spelled N-A-P? Not a terribly good player, but I'll take heroics from anybody

Looks like we've traded Brandon Jacobs to the other Sox for Matt Thornton. 36 but he's got good stats and we only really need him as a Miller replacement for this year. Linkage
