$10 says Whitlock is lined up for the 9th if the score remains the same. Bye bye $10. Cora has other ideas. Can't say I agree with it. No chance he's available after going 3 innings just 2 nights ago.

1b, 2b and SS are no-brainers. The SS poll actually does include a Brainer.

The pen could be anything from a catastrophe to lights out. A statement that could be said about any bullpen, for any team, every year in history.

Eduardo wanted good defense and knew it affected his performance last year. Here's your sign to go get a elite short stop. Counterpoint: Xander was a better defender last season than Baez was. Based off?

Guidas and not Law have pencilled in "multiple 8-9 win seasons"; Law says "Given how hard he hit the ball in 2021, he could easily have another gear of BABIP in him and post an 8-9 WAR season." Exactly. I was so-so on Correa before this but warmed up a bit after. Though I still wouldn't like to sign anyone for more than 8 years - and even then it would have to be someone young and great like Devers or Correa. After reading this, I could see how 10 years at, say, $32k per year could well work-out, even if he's only a 7ish WAR player for the first 2-3 years. I added that bit about 8-9 and the rest trying to anticipate the "he'll never earn out" comments." As for NYY, the fit may be good, but Cotts says they're already up against the tax. Will be interesting to see what they do and how far over they go since their needs are beyond SS. That contract would be a steal

All this talk of FA infielders, I haven't seen any mention of the guy I might most prefer the Sox to sign, Javy Baez. Haven't heard much about his relationship with Cora - unlike Kiké, Correa, and other PR guys - but it could be a draw. I feel like he's somewhat underrated and could come cheaper than the other elite guys. Flawed offensive approach, but legit pop and possibly the best defensive SS in baseball.

You'll find a way to sprinkle in something negative about literally anything won't you? Good lord, man. Just let people enjoy stuff. To benzinger's credit, this time he is totally right. OB literally never stops talking the whole time Ortiz is running the bases. A good announcer would allow some silence so the TV folks can hear the screaming fans. It is a better audio experience that way. That was the radio call overlayed over the video. He was much better on radio.

Is there any thought of using the Fall/Winter leagues page as the home page during the offseason, since ranking don't really change and those guys are the only ones to check in on?

Okay, but if we sign Stroman, my money's on his dad and Duran's dad against Baz's dad.

One might hope a purported injury that hurts to swing and miss might lead Devers to being more selective...

Did anyone else think about how the JD injury directly impacted this game for the better? If he were playing, Kiké might be at 2nd and there is no way anyone else makes that relay throw to get Judge at the plate. That was the game right there No chance. Kiké was going to be in CF no matter what. If JDs healthy, it's probably Schwarber at 1st and Bobby on the bench.

Pretty fitting that the Sox may have ended Boone's career tonight considering he's most well known for one moment 18 years ago at a winner-take-all game at Fenway.

Houck for Sanchez than Taylor for odor and rizzo? Why bring him back for one guy though? If its not a 1-2-3 inning, Taylor would have to stay in for Judge. Let him get a clean inning and you have Whitlock ready if it gets to Judge.

I have said it to my brothers. Now I say it publicly. Fire Cora. He does not understand pitching. Pulling Eovaldi is a stupid as Grady Little not pulling Pedro in 2003. If you had this opinion about everyone who made an upsetting decision (that worked), you'd go through 15 managers a year. Imagine the reactions if he left him in to give up a game tying bomb to Stanton.
