I live in PA and NESN is blacked out on MLB extra innings tonight. Forced to choose between Michael Kay or ESPN and Rick Sutcliffe. Great start to the night

Not playing Castillo everyday is baffling. Really frustrating Makes no sence. And it's inly going to get worse when Pedroia and Betts get back. Only this I can think of is trying to keep a trade value for DeAza. But is the C prospect even worth not playing the young guys everyday? Crazy. Honestly don't think it has much of anything to do with trade value. At this point in a player like De Aza's career, he is who he is. A few games or 20 or so at-bats aren't going to change a team's view on him. But yes, it's crazy that Rusney isn't playing.

Thought Josh Maurer did a really nice job, I enjoyed him. But at the same time, man I missed Don

Crossing my fingers for a big two-game leap here. If they win tonight it's 6.5, Yanks face Felix tomorrow and Eduardo going for Boston. Back to 5.5 after tomorrow? Well, never mind.

That Pujols hit was the first single of the series for LAA.

Also, TB/TOR lose despite NYY winning. Were 10 games behind TB June 20 and are now tied with them in the loss column.

Yeah, the lefty/righty splits on Papi this year have been drastic. He's been his usual self against RHP this year:

Baltimore down 8-2, Rays down 5-1 and could lose two today and move to 43-43. This division is nuts.

There are certain things that are worth debating about, for sure. But debating about the Peavy Iggy thing just sounds so ridiculous IMO. Just because of what Chris said, the odds of them winning with the trade and without the trade are such a minimal differnce that it's pointless to go nuts over. And, again, they won. So just be happy about it.

Jeeze. I'm bored at my grandmother's house so I read every word of the Xander/Peavy/Iggy stuff. I have a headache now, but Chris nailed it.
To keep it simple, why can't we just be happy about what happened? We obviously don't know what would've happened had they not made the trade or how Xander would've hit had they not signed Drew. So, just be happy that we had the joy of winning a World Seires for the third time in ten years. Be happy that we now have one of the better shortstops in the game of baseball at just 22 years old. Be happy about the incredible young talent we have.
No need to get into heated arguments over this stuff IMO.

Yeah, I haven't been as critical of Farrell as others this year but wow. That is absolutely absurd not having Taz throw the eighth.

has attendance fallen off at Portland? 13-29 home record lead the league in Unearned Runs Allowed, sloppy play. maybe Margot and Travis will be an attraction. 4600 last night I wonder how many were still there in the 16th inning. I sincerely doubt attendance at minor league games has much to do with the home team's record. I'd bet 90 percent of the people at a given game are even aware of the teams' respective records when they get tickets. Agree with 90% of people not knowing the record especially for the teams around my area (LV Pigs, Reading, Scranton). They have bouncy slides, games, pitch speed contests, all that stuff at IronPigs games. I think a majority of people go to those games just for family fun or just to casually enjoy a baseball game on a nice night. I'm sure it's fairly similar at most MiL venues.

Good win, again, tonight.
Was very pleased with the nice bounce back by E-Rod. He really didn't have his best stuff tonight but he was still very effective. Working on not tipping his pitches can only help the cause, lol.
Comprehensively, and absolutely, annoyed at the team for sending Swihart down. What a stupid move. Right now, even if all 4 of them were healthy, he is probably the best of our catching corps. Hanigan wasn't setting the world on fire at the plate before he got injured. And if he is getting sent down so Clay can keep his caddy, Clay needs to suck it up and be a team player. There is no reason he can't have Hanigan as his catcher and keep Blake with the team. He, and his fellow young players, have been the ones who are stepping it up in this good run of games. I can see JBJ going back down but that is really due to De Aza doing such a solid job rather than the fact that Victorino is coming back. I have been very pleased with what I have seen with JBJ at the plate this go round, now that he is getting some AB's against non-Cy Young award pitchers. But for him getting AB's at Pawtucket is more important than being on the bench with Boston. Swihart on the other hand... Swihart hasn't been sent down...? No moves have been made as of right now.

It's over in LA. Yanks lose, meaning that for the second consecutive day, the Red Sox are the only AL East team to win.
