"willing to make a deal" .... hmmmm. Do we see this as below slot as well?

Senior, so here’s your below slot guy. Likely saving 230 k on this pick. Nah. He's a top 500 guy. He doesn't have the same leverage but he's not a $10K type. He could've waited until the 10th round and gotten $150K so I'm guessing he goes about there. Some of this savings is going toward Casas and Decker. How can HE wait? Just curious - how can a player tell every team that he is waiting?

Jenista and Conine off the board - sad Cotuit fan was hoping one might slip to #64

Follow on Conine - rough weekend in tourney - 0 for 9 with 7 strikeouts - looks tough - hadn't seen him play in a while - still like him a lot, but like him more in 3 or 4 (but i think someone grabs him in 2)

Just looked again - 2013 was one stinker of a first round. 5 years on and Bryant and Judge only stars ... Jon Gray's shown glimpses ... but wow, I had no idea it was this bad.

I guess my Cotuitfan handle might tell you something, but I watched Greyson for two years in Cotuit - great kid, Mike Roberts loved him - good athlete, handled centerfield well in '17 - but I don't see judge comparisons - for starters he's 6 inches shorter. Judge's slugging percentage his draft year was .655 - Greyson's this year is .490 - Judge struck out 53 times in 206 abs, abt 26% - Greyson 39 in 192, 20% - I saw both kids play, a lot - Greyson is a great player and will make a great pro - he's mature, a leader on the team, who can handle himself well, much like Judge, but I just don't see the comparison in abilities
And I know the fears with Conine, but in 30 years watching closely, his is about the best bat speed I've ever seen in Cotuit - I was def more sure of Smoak, and Zimmer was just an all around great ballplayer, but Conine did not look like Jeren Kendall in terms of strikeouts (and I love Kendall and am rooting hard for him)

Griffin Conine two more home runs for Duke in their regular season finale. 15 for the year. Heating up at right time. Raked in Cotuit last Summer. I think that type of power is not an overreach at #26.

I'm actually tired of the Christian Vazquez myth ... he does not call a good game. Piscotty not even close to two high fastballs so CV calls for an inside slider. I just don't think he can call pitches.

Great - let's get a run - we can kill the pen all we want, but they don't have Maruccis

It’s not normal ... agree with everyone on CVaz ... but I do wonder about Swihart: Cora and Farrell don’t appear to have much in common but the fact that they both don’t believe Swihart’s a big league catcher Way to go Moreland!

wow - I'm loving Cora right now - if JBJ hadn't hit that would we see Pomeranz? I guess no - this is cool to watch - good for him

Breaking - Cubs hire Butterfield and Chili Davis - going to miss Butter - I know the third base coach stuff was often tough, but positive presence, both men

Can we get back to prospects for a second - spec Try Ball. If hes not protected, and I doubt he will be, does anyone see a team taking him thinking Charlie Blackmon? If he stays, is it time to finally admit the kid is just not a pitcher?
