I went to a braves game and foltynewisc was pitching for Atlanta. I was impressed by the movement and location he had on the fast ball secondary pitches need more seasoning though.

Outfield help has to be the bottom of the list after watching the SP this weekend. Solution in LF, BBrentz. He deserves a chance. If Bradley or betts gets injured, I think Brentz deserves a chance.

Only 8 of mlb's top 25 prospects are pitchers which makes trading for near major league ready pitching prospect tough.

I have 4 guys I really like at #12. Whitley is my #1 guy. I also like Garrett, wentz and Anderson.
My first four picks by the Red Sox in this draft:
Whitley - Alamo heights burdi - Louisville Bowden - Vanderbilt White - Texas a&am

This team is 4-15 when scoring 4 runs or less. And that's with a 3-2 record when scoring 4 runs. The Pitching Staff needs a MAJOR Overhaul. 2 legit Starters and at least 3, probably 4 Relief Pitchers are needed to be true contenders for a World Series Title. Trading for Pitching might be tough because now there are 2 valuable trade pieces gone; Sam Travis & Blake Swihart Tough to find two legit starters that we could trade for. Might take some outside the box thinking by dombrowski and the staff to get that done. But it will probably be painful.

We can talk about sonny gray again. Looked good against houston 5IP 5H 1R 1BB 5K. 69 pitches Absolutely! Probably need to see a few more starts but he is still on my target list.

Hembree seems to be "on" in non pressure situations and "off" in pressure situations.

Sheffield got roughed up in game#1.
Puk got roughed up in the Florida game as well.
Add in the poor performance by Hudson and that is 3 college arms expected to go very early in the draft that did not help themselves this weekend.
I have to think the high school players will benefit from this.
If we can still bag Whitley at #12, then I am happy.

San diego's team is abut of a mess right now.
I have to think that whatever pitcher we acquired from them would be mentally damaged, but also very relieved to be paroled from that situation.

In his major league career has Bradley ever been caught stealing a base?

Speculation is the braves GM would have to be overwhelmed by an offer to move Tehran.
I think wisler might have more upside. But being younger, might cost more.

Dakota Hudson is getting roughed up early against Southeast Missouri State in Regional play. Hudson looked bad in miss state's first game. Ball was up and flat, plus control was lacking.

Ball last two starts he had no defense. He only had two earned runs this start and last. A ton of errors in Salem. He'll be 22 this month, repeating a level and has 19 BBs vs 24 Ks in 39 IP. I mean, we can spin it all we want but the guy has been a huge disappointement! He's not even good vs LHH: He pitched 6.1 vs them walked 5 and struck out 2. If they move him to Portland, he'll get bombed. Or he learns control, how to command the strike zone and trust his stuff and he becomes our #2 starter in 2018. Because at the end of the day, he has major league stuff, just not a lot of experience...yet.

Last offseason a lot of us did not want the sox to sign cuerto, but thus far he has done pretty well for the Giants.

That's a pretty revisionist view. ERod started the year ranked 65th but his stock was dropping because he was having a bad year at Boise, even before the knee injury. A good prospect yes, exactly what you would expect for a half year rental for a team shooting for the playoffs but one of the better pitching prospects in the game is over stating it. For reference Bundy and Gausman were top 20. And Escobar was the highest ranked pitcher we picked up at the deadline. So they sold low on a guy that had a decent track record for a half-year rental reliever. Bad trade. In defense of Baltimore, if you think you have a chance for a ring, you need to do what you think will optimize your chance at that ring.

It's all about the projection. Every single team projects how a player is going to develop.
An important part of the projection process is estimating ceilings and floors on these players.

Trafing quality prospects for top notch relievers, is that an acceptable strategy for the current Red Sox operations dept?

Safe vs. upside. Finding that prospect with the highest floor, but also the highest ceiling.
And It's why I think the sox will target Dakota Hudson at #12 if he is available.
