No need for him at this point. Kelly ready to join rotation for a weekend start following a good tune up at Pawtucket. E-Rod to follow. Porcello settling in as a #2, joining Price and a surprising Wright in the rotation. Buchholz still a question mark but he's healthy and deserves a few more starts. Fredi Gonzalez replaced as manager, so Braves may want to see how the team responds. We aren't getting a starter now, but once we get to July, unless Buch turns things around, Kelly shows us something or ERod pitches like he did last year, we could use another starter. That's assuming Porcello and Wright can continue to pitch at a high level, which isn't a given as both are pitching at career high levels. When you have what looks like the Majors best offensive and an elite bullpen, you can't let the rotation keep this team from a Championship.

The padres won this trade just based on the fact that they didnt have to give up anybody to replace Kimbrel. All they had to do is shell out 1.6 million to Fernando Rodney who is dominating and has not given up a run in 16 appearances.

Of course they promote him when he starts to kind of cool off. But that must indicate that this was a set date.

They didnt have to be that good. Did you see the scores of some of those games? The oakland series and the first game against houston especially, could have scored like 6 runs less in each of those games and they still would have won.

I think there is a reasonably high likelihood that AB skips over AAA. He'll be holding down left later this summer. That would be pissah! Not a fan of of the current left fielder.

Joe West is a pathetic, lazy slob who should've been canned years ago. I'm so tired of MLB umps being able to act like punks with zero accountability. They're a much bigger embarrassment to the sport than steroids. Maybe he is just sick of watching brock holt striking out looking! Anybody else getting tired of him just standing there and watching pitches go right by?

Am I the only one that thinks its unusual that this is the first post here in about a month? I mean I wonder why.. Is it maybe because there is some disapointment? Or is there nothing good to talk about?

I cant remember the last time i got this angry watching a Red Sox Game! Andrew Miller was all over the place the entire inning and had already gotten a couple of gifts. And for the umpire to end the game the way he did is just classless and theres a whole bunch of words to describe him as well. I dont know his name and thats the way it should be! Thats because there is no way someone in his position should ever try to decide the outcome of a game and make it all about himself!

Yeah i never really understood why they count innings and not pitches thrown when it comes to monitoring a pitchers workload. Dice-k used to go 5 innings every start and throw over 100 pitches. Roy Halladay would go 8 or 9 and throw way less than 100 pitches all the time.

On the scouting report for Anderson Espinoza where it reads " He should be able hold velocity deeper into games as he fills out some". How do you know he will fill out? Maybe he is just a thin man and thats just his build! JK I believe the word "to" should be between able and hold.

Oh yeah maybe its a little easier for him now cuz he is off of that weight loss stuff that ended up getting him in trouble, He was supposedly trying to gain weight so i bet he was pretty happy to find out what the heck was going on with his body at least. That would drive anyone crazy. Information about his suspension is surprisingly limited. Sounds like he got unexpectedly trapped/tricked by OTC supplements from GNC. Anything you can add to clarify? You should listen to the podcasts from time to time if you have any free time if you dont already. Dont forget to give it a like or rate on itunes or stitcher thanks.

Great news. I love his fastball. If he can command it's 80 grade pitch. Really really explosive. Oh yeah maybe its a little easier for him now cuz he is off of that weight loss stuff that ended up getting him in trouble, He was supposedly trying to gain weight so i bet he was pretty happy to find out what the heck was going on with his body at least. I think billy would do a bogaerts betts and Espinoza for gray and reddick trade. I doubt dombrowski would, but why wouldn't billy ask for the world for gray? Because those broke fools know that they will never be able to resign gray. Dave is going to tell billy that and say that he is not going anywhere with gray and take my offer and convince him that he has plenty of great pitchers coming up through the system and and he is such a great develepor of young talent etc..

Thursty and others are not giving the D enough value. JBJ doesn't have to hit much to be worth being in the line-up. Having an above average bat for a Boston Red Sox outfielder is not asking too much. This is not miami or san diego, anyway the right guy for the job is going to be put in the line-up.

Cant wait to see what happens with this guy next season! If he makes it to portland i will be in Maine a couple times next summer and if the sea dogs have home games and he is scheduled I'd have to get over there.
