As a member here @ SoxProspects it brings a big smile to my face watching the Swihart-Bradley-Betts celebration thing at the end of these games. They were all drafted in 2011.. I believe Swihart and JBJ were both compensation for losing Adrian Beltre. Mookie was just a great find in 5th round.

Wouldn't that be like trading an apple for an apple? Maybe, but its more realistic than trading for andrew miller just based on the fact the red sox and dodgers actually do business with each other.

He got a couple more strikeouts, That lineup he faced is pretty good they were all either 22 yrs old or 23 yrs old and one 19 yr old.

Why is Steve Lyons in the booth? He's just the worst At least wakefield isnt in the booth. If he was i would never watch/listen to a red sox game

Nice game so far for Raudes. 6IP 3H 0R 0BB 8K Excellent....if only we could combine Espinoza's stuff with the control and pitchability of Raudes. Thats a great outing Hopefully they can learn from one another, pick each others brains and what not.

The amount of hypothetical trades that includes former red sox players coming back just completely proves how many bad moves they have made.

Yankees and Red Sox trade? That would never happen.

I think they should try to include Kopech in a deal if they are trying to improve the major league roster. These are the kind of antics that never really seem to go away and always end up just being way too much of a distraction and not really worth keeping around.

You'd have to give up so much to get Trout that it would create more holes than it would be worth. If we could entice the Angels on Couch for Trout straight up, I'd consider that. Really.. why dont you want to get rid of couch? Do you think he has a chance to be a good major leaguer?

Matt Wieters just hit a 2 out 9th inning 3 R HR. Balt up 3-1. And they won, beating the Angels. Where will we be inserting Trout into our lineup ? Wow! That homeplate umpire was a disgrace..His names Dale Scott, He called 2 pitches almost in the dirt strikes in the bottom of the 9th, one of them was strike three. And then he called one of them on Mike Trout so he was forced to swing on the next pitch which was obviously going to be a crappy low pitch and grounds out to end the game. They were terrible calls! He had Ron Kulpa beat if you ask me.

Here's a new batting order: Bogaerts Bradley Betts Ortiz Ramirez Shaw Pedroia C LF That's perfect R-L balance 1-7; for reasons that have been stated previously by myself and others, Bogaerts profiles as a leadoff hitter (and I've reluctantly and sadly concluded that Betts does not). It looks like pitchers are finally buying into Bradley, and his walk rate is climbing. It's time to realize that Pedroia is no longer one of your best hitters and hasn't been for a while, and his propensity for GIDP can be ameliorated. You can't rely on scoring 10 runs a game; that obviously isn't sustainable; I think the above lineup might optimize runs on nights when you're facing better pitching But would John ever do that do pedroia?

No friggin clue how major league hitters are ever tempted to swing at balls that friggin bounce before homeplate. It's absurd. Ever swung at a major league pitch before? Just curious. Where did you play? Just curious.

AE isn't off to much of a start. Missing locations and isn't missing a lot of bats in the first 2. . . . He's not likely to make it through 5, maybe not even to 5. 59 pitches after 3 innings, more of the same, doesn't look in control of the game, constantly pitching behind in the counts. He just lucked out, last batter went after the first pitch. I missed the part where he was describing this in all of his plans.

Dragan Bender averaged under 3 points per game in like 8 minutes per game, I just dont get how someone can be such a prospect if hes not getting playing time in the israeli premier league. There are a bunch of leagues overseas that are better than that one.

Still cant get over having 1st and 3rd and 0 outs and 3-0 count and not being able to score a run in the first game but at least the bullpen only had to pitch 1 2/3 innings in the double header.

No need for him at this point. Kelly ready to join rotation for a weekend start following a good tune up at Pawtucket. E-Rod to follow. Porcello settling in as a #2, joining Price and a surprising Wright in the rotation. Buchholz still a question mark but he's healthy and deserves a few more starts. Fredi Gonzalez replaced as manager, so Braves may want to see how the team responds. We aren't getting a starter now, but once we get to July, unless Buch turns things around, Kelly shows us something or ERod pitches like he did last year, we could use another starter. That's assuming Porcello and Wright can continue to pitch at a high level, which isn't a given as both are pitching at career high levels. When you have what looks like the Majors best offensive and an elite bullpen, you can't let the rotation keep this team from a Championship. "elite bullpen"?
