I love Trey Ball as a LHP. He has a huge potential on the mound. But I am not sure whether he would be the best talent available at 7 because he is pretty raw. Denney is very intriguing, who has above average potential both at bat and behind the plate. Of course I would be happy if we get Meadows.

Alex Speier is the best.

Decision makers who were watching Clint Frazier should fall in love with him. Another Trout? Theo may pick him with #2 pick assuming Appel goes to Huston.

His plate discipline is questionable but his intelligence and off field power are evident.

I didn't hear his name before. But Jonathan Gray is impressive. He might be picked earlier than Ryne Stanek.

Mark Appel becomes a sure No. 1 to me, although I am not his big fan. Kris Bryant is off a terrifc start for sure but still I don't like 1B/LF type colleage hitter from weak competition. A HS catcher Jonathan Denney has lots of helium of late. He has been known as a good defensive catcher and his offensive potential especially power is making buzz. Both BA and Law are very high on him.

He does. Very impressive for his age and position. If he refines his hitting skills, he could hit 15~20 hrs a year in the big league.

Bogaerts clearly needs to refine his approach. He is a bit overaggressive.

I love this kid. His ceiling looks higher than I thought.

As a devil's advocate, Bryant swing and miss a lot against weak competition. He may have trouble making contact in the inner part. Where is his position? Definitely neither 3b nor CF. Can he play RF at the big league level? If not, he is limited to LF or 1B.

Does he pitch for the Ham Fighters? If he does, maybe they taught him the Porkball? Is that anything like a gyro-ball? Sorry. Porkball is my tyop. Forkball is correct one, which type of pitch is very similar to splitter. Many japanese pitchers such as Hideo Nomo and Junichi Tazawa use the forkball as their out pitch.

Masahiro Tanaka, arguably top Japanese rh pitcher except Yu Darvish, is showing impressive stuff against the Cuban team. Low to mid 90's fastball with plus to better splitter (or porkball?) and slider. Still 24 years old. I heard that he will be posted after this season. Here is his stat in JPL. www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=tanaka003mas

He finally gets a hit. a double. He tends to pull the ball but this time he hit to the opposite way. Low and away. His opposite field power is as great as advertised.

A hitter with no power can get 4 extra base hits at 18 bats?

As exciting as the reports on his stuff, I go back and look at his stats, and they do not live up to his scouting profile. Has his stuff gotten better (reports of high 90s), or are there other explanations for his average results? Inconsistency.

Although Bogaerts didn't do much at the plate he displayed his athleticism and ability at 3b.

i don't see why vazquez was added. he is 22 and has only played 20 games in his career in AA and only hit .205 in that span. I'd rather the sox add hazelbaker or josh fields who are already at high levels and could make a big league impact soon. josh fields could be a very good reliever, and hazelbaker has close to 20/20 capabilties. but now, they have the risk of losing them both. despite vazquez's very good defense, i'd classify this as a bad move. I like vazquez more than josh fields and hazelbaker but I agree with you. vazquez is two years away from big league. had better add him to 40 roster next season. It's too early.

Damn. It's weird. I would like to give 3/20~25 to cody ross rather than 2/10 to Jonny Gomes.

I would like to give him one more year. His track record is pretty good. Although he struggled a bit in AAA lots of prospects did as well including Youk. Let's see how he will improve his hitting next season.
