Shout out to the bullpen. They were unhittable tonight.

No to Hosmer, and I don't care what prospects he'd come with. His contract is too expensive, and too long.
OK to Myers, but he's in his final contract year. Which means no great prospects. Through in an Aruaz and lesser pitching prospect, and maybe get something good with Myers.
But SD is looking for outfielders, so why dump Myers?

Oh, and Kiké at 3 years

1. Raffy, at 8 years 2. Nate, at 3 years 3. Christian, at 2 years
Too much for Xander and JD, though I love both.

I agree there's more to come between now and OD.
IIRC, at some point midway through the 2020 season, Duggie was leading the majors in outfield assists -- when he was the RF.

I don't believe the Sox will begin the season with that outfield alignment. Either a trade for a RH RF, or signing a DFA.

The Rays just traded for another outfielder -- they have too many.
Opportunity for the Sox?

I agree about Margot. How much would the Rays want?

Great signing and very creative contract, Chaim.
Now the loss of Schwarbs doesn't hurt so much.
I'm all for Myers + good prospect.

Suzuki, if we can get him
Reunions:
Schwarbs Iglesias Joe Kelly and his new pitches Collin McHugh -- because he owes us

I'd like to see a reunion with Fightin' ' Joe Kelly and his new pitching quiver.
And, for another sort of reunion, Collin McHugh.

If I'm the GM, I pass on all of them. Sign Iggy.
Put the monies into extending X (if he'll take it at four years) and Raffy at seven years.
Get some good/great relievers and one SP (Rodon?), and done.
We finished the year two games from the WS. We don't need much.

I'm not a lawyer, but I'd love to initiate an action against MLB to install anti-trust legislation. They should no longer be granted that exemption.

What about Schwarber? He wants to sign before the CBS expires, and reported that Phils are aggressively on him.
Four at $64mm? I'm in.
The highpoint of this past season was Schwarbs' toss to the pitcher, followed by his arm-pump and hat-doff right after he'd made an error in an identical play earlier.
His hitting approach is beyond compare, and he can teach the hitters so much. "Wait for yours."
I truly hope they can re-sign hime.

So, who would you rather have: Baez or Semien?

Schwarber must be re-signed. Witness the effect on the Sox hitters this year. ASK him if he wants to learn first base. If he doesn't, then.... adjust accordingly. He and JD (and BobbyD) coexisted very well last year. And Alex can handle the problems. When JD leaves in 2022, or if he's traded before then, Schwarbs can DH.
Re-sign Iggy! He did great for us as a fill-in second baseman. Can he play third? He brought so finesse and energy this year. He may have to be our utility infielder. If he'll accept that, who knows? I imagine he'll be offered a starting shortstop job somewhere.
Sign a closer... unless Pivetta or Whitlock want the job,and do well. New closer will alternate with Barnes, keeping them both reasonably fresh.
One additional young starter. A bunch of relievers.
I imagine, with the exceptions of adding Schwarbs and Iggy, no more signings until after Rule 5 picks?

Sure, why not? I've missed FightingJoe. But not at $12 million.

The other option: Chaim tells Boras that they love JD. But if he opts-in, they'll be trading him.

Schwarbs should definitely be resigned. Not only because of his production, but because of his leadership position. We can live with him and JD for one year. As for second base, Arroyo and resign Jose. He's been a revelation. Concentrate on pitching other than those two.

I'd like to see Munoz added back to the 40-man and called up. DFA whomever you want.
