When do we find out if Swihart was claimed? What is the timeline? I assume he would get claimed but hoping somehow he doesnt A team has 10 days after DFAing a player to trade him or let him go claimed, unless they changed that rule. It will happen way sooner than 10 days though. He'll probably be gone by the weekend. A lot of teams should be in on him. The rule was changed to 7 days. Waivers is 48 hours, so assume they have up to 5 days to play around with trade attempts. If he's not on waivers already, they have until day 5 to put him on. Sunday. Tuesday is day 7. www.thecubreporter.com/book/export/html/3535Edit: if this transaction was Tues morn ... I believe the latest he can go on waivers is Sat 2 pm, coming off Monday 1 pm.

If it can be done by Swihart, it can be done by Centeno.
Sort of.

Calamity can be entertaining. As long as it isn't vs Yanks
Edit: Hysteria entertaining? Not so much.

FYI:
Two 30-year old SP today.
Combined 5 plate appearances since HS.
Of course, they might only get a combined two PAs today.

We casual fans are confused by it all.
I Guess Eovaldi can't start the home opener.

Y do I think Leon has to clear thru the entire AL before the NL gets a shot? Oak would have claim ahead of Cubs.

Tony Renda. Assume he belongs on Nov 2019 mlfa list. Under LISTS. Aneury Tavarez. Is not showing up on the "2019 projected rosters" page.

It just seems an incredibly poor use of a scarce resource (a major roster spot) to carry three catchers. I realize that they won the World Series doing just that, but still... Guess it is time to trade Leon

Strange question. Why did they sign him then? To be nice? Smith. If Sox add him back to 40-man before November, they control him for 2020. At low cost. He won't be a free agent, in that case, until Nov 2021.

Same rules for AAA portion?
Player must stay in AAA entire season, or just on AAA reserve list?
Good pickups!

From what I read,
Tonight, midnight, 11/30 is the tender deadline. So Saturday, we will have a list of non-tender free agents.

Today is the day? I suspect we will be hearing something on who we will end up losing? Anyone know what time this all goes down and is completed by? Deadline is 8pm for adding to MLB roster

If Sox willing to offer Eovaldi $15m/yr, explain why no QO.
Edit: got it. Traded

Sox got the win last nite cuz Eovaldi wore out the LA bullpen in game 3.
All the talk bout how Eovaldi's effort was wasted ... He almost won 2 games for Sox

By my count: 6 Sox relievers threw about 105 pitches over about 5 innings. And the 5 starters have been worked, but not overworked
6 Dodger relievers threw 105 pitches over about 7 innings. And the 7th, threw 29. Floro And the 5 starters have been worked ... (Includes Maeda)
No disadvantage there for the Sox.

If Beni hits for C or P, and Holt comes out, New C or P goes into 5 spot. Behind JD
Not ideal

I love how memerific Sandy is but come on he should not be starting. Good call by Cora. Our second-best hitter is out of the lineup. Cora must be playing a hunch.
