I'd trade him for something we don't have, but lets have his value go up a little more 1st.

Why do we only have one Dominican summer team while other organization have two like the Rangers?

I meant the 2015 international July 2nd signing period. I hadn't had my coffee before posting today.

I am curious about the 2015 draft. Lets say we have the worst record in baseball this year. We'll have over 5M to spend on the 2015 draft. That's a lot of money to spend on guys for 250k-300k.

We need to trade Herrera if we buy, sell, or stand pat. I had voted for wait and see, until the Cubs series. It's an obviously sell year. I would not be surprised if he have enough rookies in our lineup that we could make a little run. If we do sell, what kind of prospects do we want. I don't want any prospects that we will put on our 40 roster, unless they are a top 120 prospect. If they do decide to sell, I would trade the following depending on the package: Badenhop, Doubront, Peavy, Pierzynski, Herrera, Gomes, Brentz, and Middlebrooks. I would trade Drew, but nobody wants such an expensive player, who can not hit.

We've drafted and signed a lot of raw athlete high school players this year compared to the last two. I am much more excited about this draft. We only need to sign Reed Reilly to sign our first 21 draft picks.

This ump is really squeezing these pitchers in AA Reading tonight. A priceless stat line so far.

I am quite down on Ball as well. He has no out pitch A-Ball. I hope the FO needs to get a clue and give him some time off the field, to clear his head. A 15 day trip on the disable list visit should help. The last thing the Sox need to do is permanently damage his confidence more, or over throw and hurt himself.

I'll monitor him. Are my hopes sky high? They aren't super high. I monitor several prospects though. Devers is 17, and who knows where he'll be in 2-4 years. I personally prefer several mid level prospects. If we do sign two prospects for over 1.4 million, I hope they sign several 200k-500k players as well.

The Sox will have to decide if they want some more seats filled the last two months, or trade away for some future prospects.

My gut tells me he'll move quickly for a high school draftee. Diaz reminds me of Chris Hernandez. I am curios to see how Daniel McGrath does the most today. It would be great if anybody sees him in person and can see if his fastball is up a few ticks.

I haven't seen him pitch in a year plus. His mechanics are so smooth now. When I last saw him he was a Tommy John surgery waiting to happen again. He also has a good changeup to go with his 99 mph straight fastball. Then he throws a 97 mph fastball that jammed a lefthander. Pedro should get a lot of credit for helping him. He is our third best pitcher currently on our staff. Hopefully Clay will impress Friday.

I was thinking the same thing about him working on his curve more. I think a well thrown curve against a right-handed hitter can be a useful weapon. The cutter I didn't even think about for him. I thought about it for Hernandez awhile back though. I think if Owens threw a solid cutter and curve he'd be even more nasty. So he can work on a lot over the next year. There is so much to learn for a pitcher. I think improving on his curve first and then a cutter would be best, along with control.

In a few weeks we'll find out what the Sox decide to do. With a strong drafting class, along with a few strong international signings, will keep fueling the Sox system.

Thank you for the updates Fox. The Sox need to decide if they want to contend or make make the bottom 10 in the next month. I am a win it all or lose it all fan. As of now we are 5 games out of the wild card as well.

The only reason they might have for not going over is because they think they'll possibly have a bad record. With a top 10 bad record we'd have more pool money than last year. Next year or in two years may have a better talent pool. I don't like such thinking because there might be an international draft. I am for going over the budget.

Oh yeah, I forgot his Twitter message. I think we had a really strong draft this year. Especially excited about our high school picks!

When did we sign Cozart and for how much? I see he is ranked and am wondering if I missed his signing.

Good control pitchers tend to breeze through low-A hitters. That being said give him a few more outings in low-A before heading to Salem. There is a chance he could move fast over the next year or two.

If he cuts down his K rate to once every six at bats he'll jump in our rankings a lot. I hope he does.
