i'd rather see Nava fill in as long as needed and let JBJ get another call up.

They clearly rushed him, get him back to Portland. (At least until after 6/30).

Xander's AAA debut? Potential ML debut (with the Sox) for RDLR? It's also Friday and the weekend is here. This too freaking exciting.

Plain and simple, Iggy and Boggy. Sorry WMB. You are talented but your approach is so poor. Agreed. And for 1st I'd be ok next year with a Carp/Nava platoon (with Nava getting most of the time in LF and taking 1st against lefties with Gomes getting in LF then).

Lester's FB velocity according to Fangraphs www.fangraphs.com/pitchfx.aspx?playerid=4930&position=P&pitch=FA Vel (K%)2009 - 93.5 (26.7) 2010 - 93.5 (26.1) 2011 - 92.6 (22.8) 2012 - 92.0 (19.0) 2013 - 91.8 (19.0) ETA Corresponding K% Lester was a successful power pitcher for a few years who no longer has enough power to get away with his so-so command. No way should they pick up that option.

Here comes Brian Ragira Stanford (CF) or Matt Boyd Oregon State(Sr) LHP If its a college arm I would guess Skulina from Kent State. I kind of hope we can add another young bat and get them signed here or I like HS pitcher Eric Lauer HS LHP from Ohio. Theo stole Skulina

Curious to see who the Red Sox target for rounds 3 through 10. Waking up this morning, still disappointed in the Trey Ball selection. I was hoping for a athletic OF with a power bat. Et tu, Tito?

Is Denney sign-able at this point or is he going to go JUCO because he feels he should get a better draft position?

Of course it's mostly preference. I wanted to see them get Shipley, similar projections as a 2/3 starter, low mileage arm, but with a already impressive change. I think he was a safer pick and could have been helping the big club sooner. I only know what I read online ans saw on YouTube, but it wouldn't be much fun following this stuff if we didn't all have our own opinions, right?

Worst case scenario who do you take of the draft goes 1. Gray 2. Appel 3. Bryant 4. Stewart 5. Frazier 6. Meadows I really think Cleveland might take Frazier at 5, which leaves us with Shipley, and Moran for college players and Trey Ball and Dominic Smith for HS, and then wild cards who likely won't be given much thought in Stanek and Manaea. I take Smith in this scenario. He likely is underrated because he plays 1B, but it's not like we necessarily have that position locked down in the future, Shipley

between his success after promotion last year and the way he's turned it on after not getting a real Spring Training, i just don't see him having anything left to prove at the AA level.

I think Frazier has better physical tools and a better swing.

things like smooth swings, i just don't get. does Pedroia have a smooth swing? was adrian beltre balanced and smooth? lars anderson had a real smooth swing.
